And pretty much all of them cheered and clapped 7 year old Albie for his penalty in front of them at half-time. Of course, that is as it should be - but sadly doesn't always happen. So, thanks to the Owls fans for that.

Owls not impressed with the school end on 09:30 - Jan 27 by Ned_Kennedys | All well and good but what do you think the owners can do to improve the lack of space and lack of legroom at Loftus Road with the current infrastructure? New ground would be the only option. |

The vast majority of fans we come across on our travels are very similar. They enjoy following their team around, like a pint, don't take it too seriously. They're always keen to know how we're doing and vice versa. Apart from Leeds. They're all cnts.

...or come to that the Annie Rd at Anfield. Always get tickets toward the front, if you're further back under the stand, the minute those in front stand up the pitch virtually disappears. It's like watching a game through a letter box.

I've done a reasonable amount of travelling around the world in my time and 99% of the people I've come across are friendly, generous and just want to live their life. Enjoy being with their family, do their job, enjoy their pastimes. Except when I went to Leeds once, they were all cnts. Yet we are all brainwashed to hate each other. Sorry, didn't want to digress and get political but I think it's in context. [Post edited 27 Jan 14:41]

I’m not sure if it’s the same now that they’ve redeveloped that stand. It doesn’t seem to be as low down as the old one did. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Owls not impressed with the school end on 00:09 - Jan 27 by Northernr | I'd excuse Sheff Wed fans for not knowing this but the "business lounge" is actually a TV studio that we were mandated to install for Sky when we were in the Premier League. Obviously Sky don't give a sht about us now we're in the division below so it sits there empty every week and the club quite rightly monetises that where they can be renting it out as an exec box. The seats behind it are no longer sold. TBH it feels like a matter of time before something happens in that stand. It's not fit for purpose. But I'm certainly not taking any abuse, criticism or anything else about our away end from the club that charges £40 to go in the literal death trap that is still the Leppings Lane end, dealing with the world's cntiest stewards on the way in for good measure.

Owls not impressed with the school end on 11:20 - Jan 27 by LongsufferingR | Just a thought. If we dug down beneath the School End and lowered that stand 15 feet or so, the box would no longer be in the way. Problem solved. Wouldn't help those in the lower tier much to be fair though. |
pitch would be on a hell of a slope though eh?

That would basically be the view you got from the front half dozen rows of the away end at Upton Park. Remember a jobsworth steward insisting we all had to sit down there or we'd be ejected. I told him in that case he may as well throw us out because when I sat down my head was three feet below pitch level and staring at a concrete wall.

The old terrace behind the goal at Everton was just as bad.Luckily we never seemed to take enough there for it to be a problem.

Owls not impressed with the school end on 19:40 - Jan 27 with 1277 views | Hastings_Hoops | That restricted view seat is absolute tosh… we didn’t sell any seats in the corners. I was coincidentally looking to see whether they had been sold and they hadn’t, so it’s an attention seeker. Move on. Nothing to see (so to speak).

Owls not impressed with the school end on 10:06 - Jan 27 by stainrods_elbow | Thanks for reclarifying the historical picture, Northern. Oddly, I don't remember this being part of any club publicity when we went up, and I can find nothing about it online to refresh my memory. I think technically the requirements that 'mandated' this ill-positioned monstrosity come from the Premier League (albeit with Sky as their arguable overlords), but that's perhaps a tad pedantic. Personally, once we were back in the Champ, I'd have taken it down again and reopened up all the away seats just to avoid this kind of shitty PR. It's irksome in such a small ground like ours we're constantly shaving off bits of ground capacity for one reason and another - the latest being the blocked-off front rows of the lower School End. I guess this one will run and run until we rebuild or move on. |
I remember vividly the new TV lounge bouncing up and down during the half time pundit sessions - watched on catch up by me of course - when we were one up at home to Chelsea in our first Prem season. Ray Wilkins remarked on it and looked very worried.

20 years ago I heard they were worried about hanging the Alfred McAlpine sponsorship boards from that roof because it was in such a fcking state. I'm amazed we've even been able to extend the gantry and put that studio there as it is.

I have long maintained that the building of a jumbotron TV screen on top of the School End without the entire stand falling down on top of itself is one of the engineering marvels of our lifetime. It should have TV programmes made about it.
