So let me get this right, people are moaning all over the place about being charged £20 to watch the cup tie, but on the other hand are perfectly happy to not turn up and throw away £30 + if their ticket is not sold on the ticket exchange

1 in 100 people having more pressing engagements, weddings, funerals and especially hospitals, which they may not have anticipated when they bought their season tickets, is quite a low figure. I don't know what this has to do with 'moaning'. You try telling a cancer patient that he's 'happy' to not turn up. With the average age of our season ticket holders, you'd expect it to be more than that. [Post edited 22 Jan 10:33]

Where's the enjoyment in having the hassle of going to the game just to see us lose every week due to the incompetence of our owners. It's amazing how much more laid back with the club you are now Nick. I remember we went almost an entire calendar year winning every single home game we played and yet you were on here saying we 'could be doing so much better'... How times have changed.

That has been the highlight of the day for some time for me. I completely get why people would give the game a miss.

Newcastle Ticket Exchange on 10:53 - Jan 22 with 581 views | dirk_doone | Bearing in mind this is the worst time of year for flu, COVID etc, it's remarkable how few season ticket holders have apparently been affected by health issues. Only 1 out of every 100 is impressive. Another capacity crowd is a testament to the exceptional loyalty of our fans.

Newcastle Ticket Exchange on 10:56 - Jan 22 with 560 views | saintwizzler | Why continue to do something you don’t like doing? If you enjoy turning up week after week to watch your team get hammered then that’s up to you. I can watch the game on my sofa and only lose 2 hours of my free time being pissed off and then I am able to do something I enjoy doing. When the clowns who own the club do something positive then maybe I’ll return. The signing yesterday and the incoming signing of Kamara made my decision for me. Shopping at the basement again. Look at the manager they’ve got in. A freebie. 5 games, 5 losses. Might as well of stuck with Martin. Instead of paying £5m for Danny Rohl they’ve gone cheap now they are buying some Tier 2 level midfielders. Good luck to those who continue on to go, if you still like it then great! Carry on. I’m not going to criticise you for going or those who don’t go. I won’t do something I don’t enjoy at weekends. And for the losing money on my ticket, I’m actually saving money by not travelling!! Enough is enough. Sport Republic. Jokers. [Post edited 22 Jan 11:53]

Newcastle Ticket Exchange on 12:33 - Jan 22 with 436 views | MytchettSaint | I’m undecided whether to waste an afternoon at the temple of doom so haven’t bothered to list my ticket on the exchange. In all likelihood I’ll decide Saturday morning whether to go or not. I’ve paid out the money already for the season ticket so as Wizzler the wise said, I’d be saving money by not getting the train down/drinking/eating.

Spot on wizzler. What’s interesting to me is not the fact that there are 250 tickets going spare. More relevant is that unlike last season’s “ sold out” games, very few people want to buy them. If season ticket holders can’t be bothered to attend and non season ticket holders can’t be arsed either then Sports Republic really do have a long term problem. I suspect that next terms season ticket take up ( or lack of ) could well come as quite a shock to the incompetents currently in control of our club.

I'm thinking a variation of "Delilah" by Tom Jones, as stolen by Stoke. With a crescendo of "Bar Bar Bar Bar Mitzvah" instead of "My My My Delilah" etc....

As a general reply across most of the posts on this thread, I can see all points, but it doesn't mean I agree with them, doesn't mean I am right and doesn't mean they are right. Ultimately going to football is about enjoyment and if you are not enjoying it, then don't bother going, I can see the point and Im not slagging people who choose that route. But it isn't my route, I will continue to go through thick and thin, it's what I do, it's what defines me, it's what I have done for the last 53 years and 1 week of my life, it's my choice I respect other peoples choices. For probably around 2/3's of our home support, that is pretty much the case as well if we use the historical evidence of our crowds over the last 24 years since we first opened St Mary's. Most of the people who I go to football with are similar to me, they might storm out early sometimes, but they are there next week, they will renew their season tickets no matter what division we are in, it's what they do. Am I not happy with how the owners have run the club, but not all of what they have done has been bad and some of it hasn't been of their own making, so if I disagree with the owners, I have two choices, I either keep going or I protest, or I do both as I did back in 1993. But I do not see protest now, I saw it 20 odd years ago under Rupert Lowe, I even saw it 16 years ago as we went into administration. But I see absolutely no protest at all against the club owners now, moaning about Sport Republic on social media is not protest, if you want to see Protest, see what the hated Scousers both Liverpool & Everton have done in recent years, likewise Arsenal, Chelsea & Spurs, even West Ham, they have organised supporters associations and get out and show their protest at the games. As I have said before all that it takes for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing, all of those stopping going are good men (yes and women), but are they helping Southampton FC in it's current predicament ? I would say no, but that doesn't make them bad people, it just makes good people doing nothing. I have picked and chose my words here as I don't want to offend any people who read this who I regard as friends, I don't slag them off for not goin,g I just see Southampton FC differently to them sometimes

Newcastle Ticket Exchange on 17:03 - Jan 22 with 212 views | franniesTache | I can't make Newcastle for personal reasons, but i'm going to every game in February. To be honest i'm kind of numb to football in general these days, we as supporters have lost. The game was bought and sold as entertainment to others, our opinions and culture don't matter to them, we know how they think of most of us here, we're "legacy fans". So like others i'll enjoy seeing my friends and family, take pride from my city and frankly hate the game itself. The sooner the whole house of cards collapses the better, i'll hopefully still be here after, but the c*nts that run it, the plastics that cheerlead it and the TV companies that ruined it won't be.
