Thinks all will be well if we keep playing like we did last night. You're a good egg, Sam, but seriously mate, get your head out of your arse!

Scary!

Poll: What should the club do now (assuming no imminent change of owners)?

He isn't going to be negative when talking to the fans. Fair play to him for coming out and facing the music.

This clubs concept of ‘all being well’ is essentially not getting relegated.

God knows we’ve been patient, but I’m really starting to get sick of it. 10 seasons of this now, bar one 9th place, and even that we spent half the season in 19th place and and roughly 75% of it in the bottom half.

I don’t know how we do it, but even in the rare event of thinking we might be turning a corner, it inevitably goes wrong pretty quickly.

Last night was concerning. The whole ground even before kick off seemed to be there in a state of resignation. There was a lot of gaps in the stadium and I’m not sure we’re up for many more false dawns.

Who's talking about being 'negative'? I'm talking about being realistic!

I don't necessarily disagree with him if he is referring to the first 20 mins of each half.
It is the best we have played this season in those periods. But we have to put away our chances.
The amazing stat that they showed was in the first 5 mins we had 7 efforts on goal.
I think with JCS back in and Chair up to speed, we will be ok.

Smells like a trout farm in here

Well no player is going to openly criticise team mates and/or the coaching team and he did highlight about "words" post-Blackburn.

Wish I could be like David Watts

It would probably be healthier, and certainly more interesting, if one did from time to time. I'd like to see a lot more of our team having a go at each other, either on the pitch or after. Is the accountability there right now?

Until we get someone who can put the ball in the back of the net we are going to be in trouble. The defence and midfield will be ok when we get the right combination but Celar and Frey put together are not going to get us anywhere near enough goals for us to stay in this league. One thing Marti has to take responsibility for is leaving Haverson up against their winger all game one on one. He had a couple of options, bring on Fox and move Dunne to right back or bring on the guy from Newcastle with instructions to clatter him into next week, he did neither. Poor management

Yeah MUCH healthier if Field had slagged off Santos for being roasted by Miller and bemoaning Anderson and Dembele’s poor performances on camera: that’ll sort the team out eh?
Or maybe a bit of pushing and shoving between our players on the pitch like Batty and Le Saux did years ago: always works for team spirit.

Sorry but what exactly does he say that's wrong in that interview? He acknowledges that they have to defend better, take their chances better and not dwell on it. He's right to say that if we play to the levels earlier in the game that the results will come. Can't really see anything wrong or criticise him for anything there.

Never knowingly right.

Agree, Marti really dropped one leaving Santos to cope with Miller, who for me watching from the upper loft was the stand out player on the pitch. Time to ditch Santos in right back role and give Ashby a go. I also think we need to try out Alfie Lloyd in a central striking position playing off Frey if possible. Celar well off this level at the moment and looks a bit lost. The worrying thing is he is at the moment like the other Slovenian striker Mlakaar we had from Brighton on loan a few seasons ago who failed to make an impact. Trouble is Celar is permanent and we need him to come good, otherwise stuck with a bit of a dud. Was Frey injured so that is why Celar got a full 2nd half?

And he’s correct. Replicate that first 20 minutes regularly and more often then not you would be a couple of goals clear and able to manage the game out (albeit accepting that this squad barely has 2 brain cells to run together).

You need to play for 90 mins...but get your point. Don't think it matters how well we play, we have no goal threat. That is going to decide our fate unfortunately.

They get three chances to score and subsequently score three goals.

I can't remember our shots on and off of target last night but they were pretty decent numbers.

We are so dreadfully poor In front of goal and gawd knows that half decent strikers dont grow on trees but this isn't 'news' It's been like that for what seems like ages.

Things don't suddenly 'come right' things have to be put right.

I have no Interest In what Field or any of them say, I have a huge Interest In our results, not our waffle.

I was at Elm Park behind the goal when John Spencer turned up that night and announced himself to us by scoring.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Yep he was their go to guy to get up the field and releive pressure. Why no one on the coaching team spotted this I don,t know. If you compare how most oppo full backs play against our wingers it is a stark difference. Our guys get very little room and normally have a full back climbing all over them sometimes illegally. I also think we can only afford to 1 of either Andersen or Madsen and not both but it will be interesting to see if that penny drops with Marti

Maybe you didn't see Ashby's showing at Blackburn. He and Smyth gifted that opportunity for the first goal. Currently don't see him as the answer either

If you think that, basically, saying it's all OK and we just need to keep playing like that to rise up the league, you're delusional, sorry.

Ah one of the great moments. "I AM THE FORKING MAN!!!"

And he was.

And we lost 2-1.
