Although the Aussies retain the ashes there's still a lot to play for. Win the last test for a series draw and the Aussies will have retained the ashes not won them. A decent achievement considering some were predicting a 5-0 whitewash. |

England can look at the first two tests and rue missed opportunities to win them. Australia will look at the second two tests and count themselves lucky that Manchester is wet.
Over the series England were probably the better side and the Australians will be well aware of that. It'll be interesting to see what happens next time around. England will certainly need another quickie or two because I can't see Anderson carrying on much beyond this Summer. Maybe Broad too. |  |

Manchester definitely saved Australia from a defeat, but yesterday's rain definitely helped England - especially the way Australia were batting, and the ball doing nothing.
