One win in Eleven games 14:33 - Jan 8 with 5033 views | Dr_Winston | With tricky trips to Sunderland and QPR coming up it's entirely possible that soon it'll be one win in thirteen. When will it be enough? Is it wise for the club to allow RM to bring players in when this is what he's doing with the ones he already has?

Personally you should hope he doesn’t take up dog walking.

One win in Eleven games on 16:00 - Jan 8 with 4009 views | pencoedjack | I said before Christmas I expected to be close to the relegation zone by the end of Jan. A win over a Watford team full of injuries papered over the cracks. I said then I’d rather another manager & nothing has changed, you can see in parts of games that we are a decent side just Martinball does not get the best out of them & honestly the football bores me to death.

I don’t think it’s wise to wait until the end of the season. We’ll be in the same boat as when Cooper left - we need to give a new manager at least some of this season to assess his playing squad and at least have a chance of a good pre season .

One win in Eleven games on 16:33 - Jan 8 with 3964 views | jojaca | We might as well stick with Russell until the end of season. This squad is just not good enough to challenge play offs. We currently need a second striker, two wingers and a right back and there doesn't seem to be much movement coming in apart from the recall of Whittaker.

One win in Eleven games on 16:35 - Jan 8 with 3955 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Martin has to demonstrate he is progressing the team and the players individually. Martin had five academy players on the pitch today with 4 local boys. (Benda Congreve Cullen Cooper and Cabango). Benda was beaten by a very sharp finish which would have troubled many. Cooper did better than Martin with quality loan player he had no chance of keeping. He needs to do some good quality wheeling and dealing. Obafemi is ideal for Swansea but is sadly too high maintenance. A draw away at Bristol against a motivated team is not a disaster.

Who said he is leaving at the end of the season. Doesn't he have a 3 year contract.

We may or may not be, but we both know RM will be here long after that date. We just have to get behind the club/team as we always do.

I will get behind the team as I have done for 40 odd years (as long as someone wakes me up) but I won’t be getting behind Martin.

It is all about the club not the coach . Hence the club is what we love .

One win in Eleven games on 19:14 - Jan 8 with 3731 views | builthjack | If Martin is sacked, the new manager will not be given sufficient funds. We have been a selling club each season since coming down. It won’t change. Stevie wanted 3 or 4 million to get a couple of strikers in the January, all he got was a couple of crocked yanks. So don’t expect any different.

One win in Eleven games on 19:27 - Jan 8 with 3690 views | Dr_Parnassus | We don’t need players. I can’t remember having a more talented side in this league, probably since Brendan’s promotion side. Any competent manager will be able to get this lot into the promotion mix. I was told to enjoy the current success today because we scored against Bristol, despite only winning 1 of the last 10 (11 now). I can’t begin to explain how far we have fallen, completely needlessly, to the point people expect to be dancing in the streets as we happen to be beating Bristol City. And of course the point I made was some are all too happy to praise Martin for players playing well, but then they blame players for playing badly. It seems an uneven standard and one designed to continue to avoid taking accountability at managerial level. He does that enough without certain fans helping him do it. These players will largely be here longer than the manager, how quickly some wish to slate them is beyond me.

Cooper had two strikers he did not use Peterson and Goykeres. He also has Cullen and Whitaker who he did no use. He had Ayew and Jamal Lowe who were scoring. SIX strikers at the start of the season plus current hotshot Gibbs White who is never described as an English crock. He did not use what he was given.

Peterson is not a striker, he’s a winger. Gyokeres was not ready to start in the Championship which is why Coventry largely kept him on the bench or out of the squad that season too. He never said he didn’t have anyone who was listed as a striker, his complaint was he had nobody good enough to play in that position. Which was true as agreed by all (including you) at the time. Hence why we had a converted singer in Lowe there and a converted forward in Ayew - neither are natural strikers. Whittaker is also an attacking mid/winger. Being a natural striker (Cullen, the only other ACTUAL striker one you mentioned) and being a natural striker capable of starting and thriving in the championship are wildly different things. Rewriting history is dishonest and severely misaligned with the truth. [Post edited 8 Jan 2023 19:57]

Peterson was sold under Coopers nose and he was rightly annoyed about it, Goykeres didn't do much when given chances and he was never gonna jump into the Team above Ayew and Lowe who has you said was scoring, Gibbs White suffered a serious injury, Whittaker was young and came here to learn and groom for the future so its unfair to mention him.

Cooper had no interest in using Peterson. His complaining when he was sold was laughable.

His complaints had nothing to do with taking away his ability to use the WINGER, his complaints were for guided towards the notion of how little control he had over certain incomings and outgoings - which then set the stage for one of the most criminal Januarys we have seen in many seasons. The Peterson situation was a microcosm of the issues which caused the January debacle and he was absolutely spot on to see it way back then.

Not sure they would. We are trying to do what dozens of other teams are doing. I would hope they would coach the midfield to join up with the defenders.

There are some good players here. We’ve seen what they are capable of - they need a coach who will play to their strengths and condition them properly.
