Anderlecht in for Dhanda 18:35 - Jun 17 with 4495 viewsKeithHaynes

Thought I posted this before this afternoon 🤪

Confirmed interest from Vincent Kompany.

Seems Dhanda hasn’t signed the new contract he was offered last January and only has one year of his current one to go.

I don’t think it’s even up for debate to be honest. Three of them came down from the PL without anything like the mass exodus we had. Brentford sold their two strikers, but reinvested in a £5m striker, presumably on the kind of wages £5m strikers command. That paid dividends. I’d be confident that someone who really knows their stuff, could pick other teams who started last season with stronger squads than us too.

I agree, it’s not the only reason. Cooper deserves all the flak he gets for sticking with Hourihane. Hourihane deserves all the flak he gets for being a massive blouse and insulting our shirt.

Injuries/recalls didn’t help either. We expected to have MGW here all season, that could have been a game changer. In the cameos he had, I could see Morris being useful. Pace, power and directness would have helped a lot.

I’m not trying to argue that Cooper is anywhere near Rodgers level. He isn’t. There are plenty of sticks to reasonably beat him with. Not being as good as Brendan Rodgers isn’t one of them.

Not lifting the squad is a fair stick . It’s nothing to do with coaching ability and all to do with motivation. You’re wrong.

Not sure what you’ve assumed I said? I agree, we went into some games flat and he has to take most of the blame for that.

What I said was you can’t reasonably criticise him for not being able to do what Brendan Rodgers did. It’s like criticising Dhanda for not being Siggurdson.

Rodgers didn’t have siggurdson when we were in the championship. He had Mark Gower and Stephen Dobbie

Again, comparing Cooper to Rodgers is like comparing Dhanda to Siggy. It’s unrealistic. Rodgers is one of the best managers in the country.

I haven’t suggested Siggy was here when we were in the Championship or that Cooper doesn’t deserve flak for not firing the players up. You’re replying to things I haven’t said.

My view in a nutshell.

It’s incredible the amount of people that are taking rare points in our history, including arguably our greatest ever manager... and that being the required standard for every manager and every squad.

Never before have I seen a fan base so quickly regress from a knowledgeable and patient group into a spoilt one, completely devoid of reality and sense of perspective.

We have been promoted twice to the top league in our 100+ year history and now a season where we don’t achieve that incredibly rare feat is seen as failure. Quite sad really.

That squad we had in 2011 had Williams, Dyer, Britton, Rangel, Sinclair, Allen who were all in, or approaching their prime, added with the loan of Borini we had a squad that in the main would compete for years in the Premier League.

We probably won’t see a squad and a manager at the club at the same time like that again in our lifetime. It’s going to be an intolerable period of time if that standard of unrealistic expectation is held.

You made the comment “another dig at Cooper”. Just a boring comment which is becoming predictable, you and others believe he has worked miracles due to the shortcomings in our squad, I, and others completely disagree as we rate our quality players higher than yourself.

Connor Roberts is in the top 10 chance makers in Europe, grimes statistically best CDM in league, Ayew arguably in top 3 players in league, Cabango wanted by West Ham, Guehi premier league footballer next year. He had the tools, very good ones aswell.

Whether it was forced or not is irrelevant, the change in player and adding another body into midfield if I remember correctly completely gazzumped Cooper and he failed to react, clear for anyone to see apart from those with rose tinted specs on.

I dont wear rose tinted specs and I suspect some on here wear dark glasses. As I keep saying rewatch the game
Firstly we should have been at least 3 up by half time. The infamous tactical switch made at half time yet we still had the upper hand though in fairness Bristol City were coming into the game more yet we were the ones who went ahead.Cooper and Marsh were then in discussion and Hourihane ends up giving away the goal ....allowing City back in..maybe they were discussing how to set up to play Cooperball from then as before then we had been attack minded and played lots of possesion based attacking football.....so unllike the Cooperball so many talk abnout. The switch didnt lose us the game three silly goals given away did. Even at 2-1 down we created chances Arriola blastded a golden chance over the bar.....listenog to you we were out of the game as a result of the change whic is so far from the truth...thats what winds me up...Cooper has his shortcomings but did Geuhi look like a PL footballer when he first arrived? Roberts is in the top 10 chance makers yet epople critisced COoper for playing him in a more advanced role towards the end of the season ....funny how Roberts is not ranked for his defensive role...yet when Cooper used hom to help create chanc es he gets pilloired.....I didnt critisce the players in my post I question about Roberts and GRimes moving to PL next season.....where will they go ? Managers look at players to see what they will add to their squads....which PL teamsd do you think are looking at Matty and saying we want him because he will bring?????
The beauty if being fans is that we all have different opinions...at the ground near me even when we where doing well in the PL passing the ball around especially acrsoo the backline and playing out from the back there were sevral fans who could be heard to shout "forward" or kick it long....I have debated the virtues of various players and tactics employed...with those around often we would all differ but usually we all discussed our views using facts especially as there were in front of us.....since lockdown and being reliant on the view presented to us purefly from the tv cameras it changes reality.

Again we have different opinions on our manager....BUT sometimes he is knocked unfairly...BUT at otrher times I too have criticesd him...the Huddersfield game the way we set up against Wycombe at home and our approach to QPR at home

The fact other clubs seem to want him as their next manager must say something...yes the style may not have always been the greatest and funny isint it a game in which we played the "Swansea Way " and lost...Cooper gets stick for...maybe if we had had a recognised goal scorer we may have won that game 3 or 4 nil!

Dhanda is only 22 years old, I could get some of the criticism he gets if he was 26.

Has anyone actually offered him a job or has he just failed at the interview stage.
