Forum saying swans have petitioned the EFL that if we can’t have fans then Barnsley shouldn’t either.

As I understood it, it was the EFL saying this and not the swans and that the EFL were petitioning the WAG in this regard?

Would Barnsley having fans and the swans not, really be that much of an advantage to Barnsley?

If there are fans at one game they should be at both.

It's a definite advantage for the home side otherwise.

Shouldn't imagine a couple thousand make much difference...us having cooper as manager is a Niger advantage to them..

That's exactly what's going to happen, if Drakeford says no to us then Barnsley won't have a crowd either.

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

I watched the last few mins of the Barnsley V Norwich game and they stated on there that they were awaiting a decision from the Welsh 'government' as to whether fans would be allowed at the Liberty which would also have a bearing on their home leg. Nothing to do with the Swans.

Nothing to do with the swans petitioning anyone, the EFL have already stated it four days ago.

They seem to prefer blaming Swansea.

OK I've changed it.

If the Welsh Government allow fans and the UK Government do not Barnsley people might complain. This is however democrasy, The idea of regional devolution for England has been consistently refused.

Strange place Barnsley.

Always remember going for a drink in the Wetherspoons there and an old fella coming up to our table and asking if he could sit there.

I said yes no problem replied no its ok didn't know you were Welsh and buggered off.

Then went into another pub on the same street and there were swastikas on the walls in the toilet.

A charming bunch the locals

And yet,we have friends of 30 yr plu who live in Rotherham, not too far away, same county.Been there countless time, football or not related and always been made welcome.

Was shown around Orgreave by a ex miner chum of his too .It changed radically after the dispute.

I seem to recall many steelworkers in the steel cities facing the same issues they do in south Wales.

Odd innit to see them referred to a northern monkeys.

Yes I know you shouldn't tar them all with the same brush because of a few racist bigots.

But we did get jumped on the way back to the train station as well.

I put it down to small pit town inferiority complex.

Just went for a drink in the leisure centre on my next visit.

Strange you should say that back in the day on a lads holiday we got chatting to a few boys from Barnsley and listening to them talk was like listening to a load 1970's racists

No idea.

Might be mass immigration changing the place.

Its not something that ever happened to Swansea though is it.

Anyway, why should denizens of one working class decry another similiar town/city.

Not really a case of united working class is it

Been to Leeds both sheffield grounds Rotherham Huddersfield most of the Northern towns and cities.
And all have been fine.

Give me the North East any day of the week very friendly especially the Geordies.

Son went to Leeds Uni.Love Leeds .Proper old big brass city.Hate the football club though.

Newcastle though I love.Batsyte crazy. The only area that I would move to is Northumberland. It i simply a joy to get up there. You can argue all day long and they love it.

Accent is gorgeous too.

City of Newcastle waterfront almost as evocative as Liverpool

Am not saying there are not . actually I know there are. Just adding my views on what I have experienced on an open forum . Just that it's not nice sitting in a pub in York with my better half (whose black) and a group of kids younger than my son's using the n word and thinking it was funny until they saw their audience
