The News on 20:31 - Dec 25 with 2074 views | Jack59 | For over 20 years, I had 24 hour tv news on in the background, whilst working from home. They've all got their own political agenda anyway, which means it's their spin on everything. I can't watch any of it anymore. It is thoroughly depressing They slot in a random news story for a few minutes near the end of the bulletin, which displays some humanity or compassion, and think they've balanced it all up. There are clearly people in very senior positions of mainstream media, who are so out of touch they must have come from another planet.

Many years back the BBC was a national treasure, it was revered by the majority, respected and admired both at home and abroad. It is now alas a mere shadow of its former self! Some of its reporting standards, downright lies and despicable lengths it will go to is shocking. The Martin Bashir controversy epitomises that along with Panorama pay-outs, other highly questionable reporting along with WOKE/PC lunacy adgenda(s) that's so far removed from once high standards. That may get the thumbs up from middle class Islington sociology professor types, student activists and the cloud-cuckoo-land detached, but ordinary, common sense types who see the world as it is, I'd guess not.

You are correct. From national treasure to national joke. Simce 2016 its been a Brexit enabler, and anti-devolution. Laura K (and Peston at ITV) is in the govt pocket. As source close to = Dom Cummings. Manipulation in exchange for early story access. Respect to Sophie Ridge and Kay Burley, the BBC would not like their ‘nasty’ questions. Defund - or reform.

Sad to think the BBC has journalists who (100% serious here!) epitomise and mimic the standards/behaviour of a black comedy character like Greg Kettle from bygone 'Hot Metal' TV series. Years ahead of its time!

The world has become so polarised trying to find an impartial person anywhere is harder than finding a cardiff fan without a sore neck. Many of these journalists think themselves impartial, they cannot see their own bias even when it's implicit. Take John Sopel, does he think himself impartial? Because I watched several of his reports and if he was trying to be impartial towards Trump, he failed badly in my book. Every time he mentioned Trump it was as if he was talking about a condemned man.

Probably because we have both lived in both countries and have seen politics from all sides. I have lived in wales most of my life but having moved to England with work have seen how progressive policies create wealth and lead to everyone getting a better standard of living. While in Wales labour hate to see anyone bettering themselves. They are happy to close decent schools and inflict lower education standards on the people. Meanwhile the champainge socialist send their children to the best private schools.

Have you heard of that modern thing, Sky tv? You can get all sorts on it. Then there's another modern thing, the internet, it's incredible, you can read the news from loads of countries all over the world. I'm pretty sure they have both in England too. Then there's yet aother modern thing, smartphone apps. On my app I can get local news from Accrington to Alloa, from Ballymena to Barking, from Yorkshire to "Your Gibraltar" and here you go https://www.yourgibraltartv.com/ It's a wonderful thing technology, you should try being modern.

Possibly as we still have family and friends back there, revisit, watch the television for Welsh news-blubby marvellous if today's telly. Maybe felix and I are more objective, perceptive and can see what a dog's breakfast Welsh politics is. Independence?. Wales is tribal. Always was ,always will be. Look and listen to us. In the last couple of days I have seen news articles from Wales mentioning that the army has been called in to help the Welsh Ambulance service and Wales' biggest hospital has appealed for volunteers as they are being overwhelmed by the coronavirus epidemic. Meanwhile Drakeford has complained about the trade deal with the EU despite Wales voting to leave. He also complains he does not have as much access to Johnson as he did with May. Perhaps he has not noticed that Johnson has a country to run with the virus his priority as well as getting a free trade deal with the EU done in less than a year. Perhaps Drakeford should concentrate on sorting out the things under his control and less time than moaning.
