A bad start to the draw.

We're in group I which'll have 6 teams in it. Lots of meaningless matches against teams such as Andorra and San Marino etc from pots 5 and 6.

Our strongest opponents being drawn from pot 2. Poland. Could have been worse.

There are 1 or 2 handy teams in pot 3. Czech Republic for example are best avoided. Norway, Russia, Republic of Ireland also. We get Hungary, not bad.

Pot 4 - Albania. Didn't ant that one.

Pot 5 Andorra. Waste of time.

Huh. Pot 6. San Marino. Another couple of joke matches.

Scotland's group is looking doable. Rep of Ireland not too bad either. Toughies for Wales and N. Ireland who probably won't qualify.

The qualifiers will take place between March and November 2021, with play-offs scheduled for March 2022.

How does qualifying work?

Thirty-two teams will take part in the World Cup in Qatar, of which 13 will be from Europe.

The 10 group winners in qualifying will secure their place at the tournament while the 10 group runners-up will go through to the play-offs, along with the two best Nations League group winners who do not finish in the top two of their World Cup qualifying group.

The 12 play-off teams will be drawn into three separate play-off paths, each of which will comprise semi-finals and final, with the three winners heading to Qatar.
