New Developments in Swansea on 17:02 - Apr 19 with 6410 views | Wingstandwood | Speaking as a regular reader of SWEP, I can say with great 'civic pride' that I have seen a vast array of the most impressive artiste's impressions, architects drawings, 3D computerised video presentations etc over a period of many, many, many years. The trouble is unlike (WAG mantra) Cardiff, Cardiff, Cardiff, Cardiff? They never tend to happen, the recent lagoon project etc. I think the media/council/political powers to be? Should cut to the quick to create more eternal disappointment with yet more imagery encompassing a 'fairytale-castle-on-a-cloud' and a 'large-pie-in-the-sky'.

New Developments in Swansea on 15:49 - Apr 20 with 6145 views | dickythorpe | Had a bit of time in Swansea the last week. Wind Street is very dark and cluttered now, the sooner the development incorporates the marina and sa1 the better. More light and brighter establishments are paramount, I needed a torch in Frankie and Bennys! The River house was packed outside yesterday and a real sun trap, but Diablos ( the old Garbos) was shut!!! That real ale bar Riff, needs to be more accessible and signposted. Lot of wasteland around it. Swigg bar is ok and Pumphouse has had a good revamp.

Yes, the promenade in the middle of a busy road that nobody walks on

It is though. Let down by abysmal planning decisions a lack of any coherent vision and a total lack of investment at regional government level. I've said this before but take a walk from the train station to the Guildhall down High St The Kingsway and St Helens Rd. It's awful truly awful.

Can't argue with any of that tbh. On the bright side, it'll be tidy when they've finished fvcking it up👠

Quay parade first, continue on to Fabian way. Keep going until you reach Cardiff, you'll have a great day and night out.

I'm struggling, genuinely struggling to answer that question. The Uplands has a few trendy bars frequented by beard stroking millenials discussing craft beer whilst drawing on oversized vaping machines, and a monthly food market for the wannabe Guardianistas.... There are a few new bars ( see a pattern here) in Mumbles. There are a few new bars (!) in SA1. The rest of the place is even more run down underfunded and uncared for by the residents than your last visit. Even the jewel in the crown Swansea Market is fast becoming a shadow of its former self. Pretty Shitty City has never been more apt.

New Developments in Swansea on 10:25 - Apr 21 with 5628 views | Nogginthenog | We have to hope that the revamp that is on going w,I'll breathe a bit of new life into the centre. Having said that the surrounding environs are enough to make it a great place to live. Especially when the sun shines. It isn't all bad.
New Developments in Swansea on 11:54 - Apr 21 with 5579 views | dickythorpe | Uplands only had 2 pubs there 20 odd years ago, it's clean off now. Who wants to sit outside and look at traffic with bearded know it all still in their early 20's and vaping!!! Head for Marina/sa1. Mumbles is cluttered. Drive on to Old Walls, Port Eynon, Llamadoc, Rhosilli are great places but pricey but that keeps the riff raff way.

Plus if there's more than 4 in Noah's yard by the bar, did you get served within 10 minutes! Plus who went down the skittle alley in the Tavern????? ......enjoy though !

Been to St James bar a couple of times, lovely inside and a nice beer garden out the front, the only larger on tap is Sharps Cornish larger @5.50 a pint, double vodka and tonic and a pint of Larger came in at £11.40!

Struggled to get a seat outside all of the establishments in the Uplands yesterday in the sunshine. It seems that some of the bars are in competition as to which one can charge the most for a pint of lager. St James pretty nice inside & outside £4 for a Gower Gold. Tav is still the best if you can actually enjoy drinking out of plastic glasses. I’ve always found the service in Noah’s pretty good, the prices not so good. Actually a good mix of people in Uplands, all ages, good vibe with late night option across the road in the Garage or Terrace. Better than Wind St, Mumbles or SA1 any day of the week
New Developments in Swansea on 19:44 - Apr 21 with 5348 views | dickythorpe | A pint of Stella, Kronenburg and Strongbow Dark fruits came to £8 in the Cross Keys on Thursday afternoon, could take the glasses outside to the beer garden where it was glorious. How can a bar in the Uplands charge £5.50 for a lager that Coors took over?
