I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Used to love Badminton, played at Penlan a few times, but viral labyrinthitis and then a broken shoulder from cycling put pay to that.
I have AF at the moment so any thoughts of table tennis are outers for the time being.
If things improve I might be interested as one of the er older players ;-)

Fck sake, naming your pet bat Desmond is pretty poor.

I played for St. Thomas Community Centre way back in the mid to late 60's. Really enjoyed the matches in the Swansea & District league and played against some fantastic guys who went on to national honours. Was never anywhere near that level but had great fun back then. Definitely too old now!

Played for Penyrheol in my youth. Is Dennis Bromage still running it up there? Excellent setup anyway, as was Penlan with Roy and Betty.

I played 11 years in Wycombe before moving here in 2006. Had a year playing for Penlan Plan and was blown away by the setup there. Improved my game more in one year than 11 at home!
Have to agree that Betty and Roy were great, and the youth section was phenomenal.

I stopped playing there a few years earlier when I moved east but good to hear it was and is still going strong. Slightly a shame to see the teams centralised in only 7 locations (must have been triple that in the 90s) but some excellent setups too. Just good to see the league still going!

Betty is still going strong from what I've seen, I run my badminton club from the same centre.

Last time I went up there she was still there, but not playing think she had cataracts. Fascinating woman, I've been told that she representerepresented her country over 250 times, more than any other Welshperson apparently. In my time there she was doubles World champion in the over 85 category!

Dennis still runs Penyrheol and also the Premier Division which is played at Morriston Leasure Centre on Wednesday Evenings from 7 30pm when the season is running
I think Dennis is playing his best table tennis ever over the last 5 years.
