I'm watching on CNN. It's all very confusing, for me.
Two questions;
1. Why does California carry 55 electoral votes? Is it due to population or is it not that simple?
2. How shÃt must Gary Johnson be as a politician if he's only getting approx 2% of a vote where the competition is Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump?!
Not looking good for planet earth at time of going to post....
1. It's more complicated than that but basically it's to do with population yes 2. He's honestly not any better. The fact that these are the three best candidates that America has to offer is fcking terrifying. 3. The world is utterly, utterly screwed.

So many people have been let down by the current political system and feel threatened by the way the world is changing for them and want something different - of course, what's really on offer is another side of the same coin, real change is as far away as ever. The same is happening here, with brexit, with farage. On the 'left' we have corbyn. I've been thinking about him and he will fail imho because, basically and unlike trump, he does not appear to have any love for his own country. That's the vital ingredient he's missing. relieved? er, ...... no. i don't even think that this is the beginning. if i were amerikan and had the chance to vote, i would probably have abstained. two absolutely dreadful candidates with no principles or morals to be found between them. 300 million people, and these are the best two candidates they can offer?

the middle east is a political and military mine field. the only true democracy to be seen behaves in a way that is unacceptable and very distressing. all other 'countries' have so much blood on their hands, you could grow poppies in the sand.
i was hoping that sense would have prevailed here, but alas no. i just hope that its a one term president, during which they can get their act together and elect someone that offers more hope to all; that will challenge itself and other governments to behave better towards humanity, that will look for solutions to move us forward, as opposed to being stuck in the past - fuels, gm crops, abortion, same sex marriage, true democracy for all, and a hope and future for all. thats what i hope for. doubt it will happen, but hey ho. oh, and qpr winning the premiership and champions league for 10 straight years.
i am happy that the circus might finally leave town, but am apprehensive about the mess that they will have left behind, and how that will impact us for the next 4 years.
