Week 8 Results SUNDERLAND 1 WEST BROM 1 A late equaliser for Sunderland, but they are still without a win this season. The big 9 who got this spot-on wont care about that, and 1 more had the outcome. WATFORD 2 BOURNEMOUTH 2 Watford came from behind twice to get a point, as Bournemouth score more than once in the league, for the first time in twelve games. Just the 2 had this spot-on, but there were 8 getting the outcome. WEST HAM 1 MIDDLESBROUGH 1 A welcome point for West Ham, but this is still their worst start in the top flight since 1988-89, when they were relegated. There were 4 who got this spot-on, and another 2 had the outcome. LEEDS 2 BARNSLEY 1 Leeds win for the fifth time in six games. A decent 6 had this spot-on, with a further 9 getting the outcome. READING 1 DERBY 1 A 90th minute equaliser for Reading, stops Chris Powell from getting two wins in a week as caretaker manager. Only 2 got this spot-on, and another 2 had the outcome. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 1 BRIGHTON 2 Brighton claim their first ever victory at Hillsborough. Just the 2 had this spot-on, and 1 more got the outcome. With four score draws this week, we were halfway to winning the jackpot on the football pools (remember them). In fact they were they only score draws in the top two divisions, where this weeks fixtures came from. With the one all draw always a popular prediction, we had an impressive twenty-five 3 pointers, but only twenty-three 1 point outcomes. The first time I can remember the 3 pointers outscoring the other outcomes. This meant if you didn't get those 3 pointers, it was a week of struggle. Just the one member, burnsieespana, managed to get three of them, with him having the draw at Sunderland, and the wins for Leeds and Brighton spot-on, and one other outcome, he is this weeks top scorer, with an impressive 10 points. There were seven members who got two, the best of which was RSCOSWORTH, Pinault_Noir and gsy163, who all got a very good 7 points. In the Premier, after losing his top spot last week, burnsieespana hits back in a big way, with his top scoring effort giving him a clear lead. After winning Division One in his first season, who is to bet against him winning the Premier in his second. Just a solitary point for last weeks leader Gate16, did ahem, leave the gate open for him to walk through, and he took full advantage. Just the one point for last weeks third and fourth, ethicsgirl and mfb_cufc, as well, means they both drop three. Their positions are taken by this leagues two biggest risers, with RSCOSWORTH and Tropical_US (another with two spot-on), both moving up five places. In Division One, it is still durham_exile leading the way, but with concordman getting another two spot-on, it is now by only the one point. When he was last in the Happy League two seasons ago, Pinault_Noir (formerly known as BluenWightExile) made the play-offs. After a season out he hasn't lost his touch, as he moves up to a seasons high third. After being in the play-offs for the past two seasons, gsy163 had struggled to reach those those heights so far, but after being the biggest mover in this division, he is up five places into a familiar fourth. The biggest mover in the opposite direction is WessiehomesPete, down five, after firing a rare blank. At the bottom, after getting his first 3 pointer of the season last week, Daniel followed up with two more this week. Two 3 pointers for Colukev as well, and after their early season struggles, a play-off spot suddenly comes into sight for both. THE TABLES (56 out of 280 played) (Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post) Week 9 Fixtures It is another International break week, so we have six games from the competitive League 2. DONCASTER v BARNET EXETER v GRIMSBY LEYTON ORIENT v PORTSMOUTH MORECAMBE v CARLISLE STEVENAGE v PLYMOUTH YEOVIL v WYCOMBE Good luck everybody. [Post edited 8 Oct 2016 23:12]
