Does anyone feel sorry for these poor people who have lost zillions and their heart broken persona on various tv reports, as in 'it shouldn't happen to us'....

Not in the slightest. I started reading the follow up story on the bbc app about the victims before realising I don't give a crap. If you're rich enough to live in the area and rich enough to have assets in these vaults then there are people way worse off than you. Not that it isn't unfortunate for them, but I'll keep my sympathy for other people.

The actual story about how they could possibly pull off the heist is way more interesting.

Most of the goodies deposited were probably ill gotten gains anyway.

The robbers knew were to look somehow

If you're storing goods worth hundreds of thousands of £££ then you would have them insured. UNLESS you have something dodgy. By some media accounts, a lot of the stuff stolen was not insured so the items are gone forever.

I know it probably sounds selfish, but attacks like this on predominantly wealthy owners can only be seen as a benefit for those of us who do not have that kind of money as the the security surrounding the deposit box industry, and in particular the security firms that guard them, will be improved.

Fk me, the jealousy on this thread is disgusting.

Ever since my son was... never conceived, because I've never had consensual sex without money involved... I've always kind of looked at you as... a thing, that I could live next to... in accordance with state laws.

Something worth hundreds of thousands would cost a significant sum to insure. More than the cost of a deposit box, which is about £300 a year at the location involved. It's entirely possible that valuable family heirlooms have been lost by ordinary people in this heist.

But that's OK see, because f*ck the rich bastards innit?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Just because you may have some valuables, why should you have to be prey for thieving scum?

I'm sure we have all been victims to theft at some stage.

Being wealthy doesn't mean it's alright.

There's something rather quaint about this robbery, unless you were a victim of course. A diamond robbery at a guarded vault. This is Raffles territory.

They've actually got cctv of the crooks carting it out in wheelie bins. They even conformed to HSE PPE regs by wearing high via vests and hard hats.

The Old Bill are in serious trouble. This one is going to run and run.

It's like something out an old Ealing comedy script!

The Police have issued descriptions fitting Stanley Holloway, Alec Guinness and Sid James!

£300 according to the BBC. £100 + VAT according to their own website.

I don't guess.
