Ah yeah that's true. Just seems a lot to pay someone to put minimal effort in.

If we stay in the premier league long enough then the £100 m pound deal will see plenty of other average footballers on the same money.

Gomis money isnt obscene for a free transfer but it is bit of a worry in terms of what we are getting in return.

I prey he can score a few goals and get a move in the summer .

Its not " big money" in PL terms and the first Swans player on £100 k a week is just around the corner. It's what comes with playing in the richest league in the world.

I said last year that within a couple of years many Swans players would be earning 50-100k p/w, and was laughed at.

Wasn't that long ago that 50k a week was top earner in the league like Rooney etc and that was seen as obscene.... then went to 80k.... 100k.... 200k... and now seemingly 300k all in a relatively short period of time. Football has lost touch with all sense of reality.

Europe wide wage caps need to be brought in because any increase in revenue that the club has, the players demand it goes into their pockets. This sky money should develop the sport, the fan experience and strengthen infrastructure. Yet its all being wasted on average players wage demands and greedy agents while the fan pays through the nose for everything to be involved.

Football is losing itself.

Absolutely.

The most important bit of business the Swans have achieved these past couple of years has been the development of the training grounds that will be part of the club's infrastructure for many years to come.

Players, managers will come and go, some, far more honest than others, who may wish to bring their families up in the area and become part of the fabric of the club like the current manager. On the whole though as you imply a bunch of mercenaries who along with their agents will be more than happy to make themselves very wealthy people out of football...and so they should I suppose, we all would, but not at the current rate of earnings and with the projections, many people describe the money as obscene..well what's worse than obscene?

How about "Very obscene"?

I was always under the impression that his signing on fee plus his weekly wedge would work out the equivalent of between £70k and £80k a week. Still crazy money, it takes me a month to earn that sort of moolah.

Yes..very obscene!

I don't begrudge players earning a lot as... if market forces dictate then so be it. There has to be a limit though, generally the teams who spend the most will be at the top, therefore the spiral will keep on getting bigger.
