Big blow for St Annes square though. People used to come to St Annes from miles around but sadly it lost it's way a bit over recent years. Council have spent a small fortune trying to do the place up with fancy lights and flowers but they need to lower the rates and be a bit more creative in promoting itself. |  | | |

It is a blow. It was JRs that gave the town centre a semblance of 'poshness'. But it seems they cannot trade profitably in the internet age. I can remember buying a shirt there 30+ years ago and being served by a very nice young shop assistant. |  | | |

It was good in its hey day but I went in a couple of years ago and thought it looked a bit dated, expensive and had too little choice. Perhaps someone like Primark are more suited to the St Annes public of today and are waiting to take over the site? | | | |
