Sad to see the Church Inn beside the ground flattened. Another bit of our Heritage gone. Hadn't been past for a couple of weeks. Walked past today and even the bowling green has gone. It was in a bit of a state though. In the late 60s and early 70s when I used to go in to meet the lads before a game, it used to be packed out. Happy days in the Church.

We used to do Castleton to Rochdale, was a whole day of a job. Starting from The Junction. Then onto George and Dragon The Church The Bridge Commercial Blue Pits New Inn Midland Fairview Then into Sudden it was The Windmill Waggon Clog and Shawl Then the last leg St Albans and The Castle. Never actually made it into Town funnilly enough
