I don't think we need to sell anyone, to fund the transfers we need this summer.

We don't need to, but it makes good business sense to move Ki on. He's one of the top earners and if De Guzman comes back in will spend most his time on the bench.

It might make good business sense to keep hold of Ki too.

Good player is Ki ,rarely gives the ball away . However Who would you pick him ahead of in our starting 11

Leon if he's going to perform at the same level as last season.

He gives the ball away every time he has a shot, because the ball usually ends up either high, wide or delicately placed in the hands of the goalkeeper. Other than that he does very well to keep the ball in those square 5 yard passes, or while chasing his own tail in a circle.

He does a lot of everything, while providing absolutely nothing.

He looked good for Sunderland when they were losing and then when he was out of the team, they stayed up.

He's not going to have teams chasing him after his performances at this tournament for sure. He's looked robotic, just more Lost in Space than Terminator

Ideally sell Ki and not bother with JDG but get in midfielders who can tackle.
I see Snodgras going to Hull. That s a shame

I agree with you on Ki, but you advocate not signing JDG again and lament missing out on Snodgrass?

That's like passing up the chance of a night with Scarlett Johansson in favour of Helen Flanagan. Helen may be fine, but she's not a patch on Scarlett.

You know, Hobbes, some days even my lucky rocket ship underpants don't help.

Got to disagree with you there ,delivers a better set piece than deguzman works harder than deguzman and also tracks back and tackles which deguzman really lacks in with ball at feet is the same as deguzman neat and tidy both classy players ki better in front of back four deguzman better just behind forward line

I'd prefer JDG. 6/7 goals plus numerous assists per season. He's already proved himself for us over 2 seasons. Ki hasn't.

And set pieces. It's just the first that springs to mind but his goal against Valencia ? Pure class.

Completely disagree that Ki works harder. De Guzman covers a huge amount of ground during a game, and does a lot off the ball. Ki does too although the way his effort dropped in his first season here was alarming. Both are poor at tackling though.

Ki's close control is better, wouldn't argue with that but De Guzman has far better end product and is far more likely to score or set up a goal, making him a more effective member of the midfield overall.

This! Spot on.

Huw Jenkins... Nuff said!

If it's just the one night then I might just go for the Flanimal, to be honest.....

Having said that, I'd definitely go for JDG over either Snodgrass or Ki, although not in the bedroom department.

The thing I feel stunted Ki's performances the most was the fact that he played a too-similar role to Leon.
When playing in a 4-2-3-1 it is important to ensure that you have a good diversity and balance within the midfield. I believe this is where England went wrong with Gerrard and Henderson sitting and then having a front four who had to constantly track back due to the massive gap. When we play with Leon-Shelvey or Leon-DeGuzman ( I am not his best fan) Leon will always sit. Thats his job and no one in our squad could do a better job than him. However, when Ki was playing, certainly in our centenary year he almost seemed to be level with Britts in terms of positioning on the field. He showed glimpses of having a bit about him when he ventured forward but he would usually always do that 17-point turn with the one foot and go back. I think if Monk gives him the freedom to go forward he would be a totally different player. I remember when he signed there were youtube videos of him banging them in for Celtic and SK, it would be hard to replicate that form spending most of the game in and around the centre circle!
Hope he get's a chance IMO

If we are going to keep Ki then it would be in the Leon position. If we aren't going to keep him, then we need to find someone else in that position as I don't think Canas is going to be the man.
