Hasenhuttl Is Not At Home To Complacency
Wednesday, 30th Jan 2019 14:48

Ralph Hasenhuttl is not getting too excited about his sides recent good form just yet, Saints might be at home to Crystal Palace but Ralph isn't at home to complacency.

Saints could win three Premier League games for the first time since the end of 2015/16 season, but Ralph Hasenhuttl is not counting his chickens until they are hatched as he tries to become the first Saints manager to achieve this feat since Ronald Koeman, the fourth of the Dutchman's successors to try.

Speaking ahead of the game against Crystal Palace the Austrian said.

“If we win the next three games I will still be sitting here and telling you the same, that it’s not done and not finished because we know how quick things can change in the Premier League."

“For sure if they are positive we make a big step forward and can bring a lot of points between us and the relegation zone. That’s the goal but it’s not easy. "

“If anyone thinks that these games are easier than the games before against Everton or Leicester then I have to tell him he is wrong."

“We need 100 per cent perfect game on the pitch and a crowd surrounding us that know it takes time to find the right space and maybe the one or two chances you can score. It’s about being calm and patient."

“It will be a big step, that’s for sure.”

“It’s a big chance,” admitted Hasenhuttl.

“The next three games are very important because they are all opponents in our zone where we often speak about the six point games. If you don’t lose one it’s a big step forward and the more games you win the bigger the step can be."

“We play twice at home and it’s not easy. You have more ball possession and we try to prepare your game but our core is still a good compact and balanced defence."

“It is not a good option if they shoot at goal and it’s really difficult."

“As balanced as the last game in defence and offensively transition and ball possession with the right space to bring them problems."

“It’s not so easy because it’s a very good manager (Roy Hodgson) with a very clear plan and they showed against the big teams they are not unbalanced in any time of the game."

“It will be tactically very interesting.”

Saints two wins in a row have increased Saints supporters respect for Hasenhuttl and already he has become very popular, but as the Austrian says there are some tough games up ahead and now is the time to be focused and calm.

A defeat in this or any game in isolation is not a disaster and we need to keep supporting the team if things arent going too well in a game.

Ralph Hasenhuttl has a very thorough plan for Saints, he has worked minor miracles in what he has done in the last two months, but ultimately there is a limit to what he can do with the current squad and undoubtedly the squad still needs strengthening.

But Ralph thinks the squad has enough there to get out of trouble and the sooner we do so the sooner we can start to plan for next season.

Neutral about this one. Could be dull. Probably give this one a miss as not greatly motivated today with virtual confirmation of no new players coming in.

Surprise! Surprise! Bet Ralph is hacked off right now, losing half a team and no sign of reinforcements Sold a pup maybe?

Why would no players coming in affect whether you go to a game tonight ?

There are far more reasons to go to a game than at any time in the last 2 years or so.

1. We have an exciting young manager

2. We have an exciting young team who are playing attractive football

3. And they are scoring goals

4. WE could win three games in a row.

5. We could pull well clear of relegation trouble

6. Its a crunch game against the team right above us.

7. Ralph has asked for the crowd to turn up and get behind the team.

Just about the only reason not to go is that its going to be freezing.

Long time reader, first time poster. Love the site Nick. I've taken the final leap to posting on here due to finally having enough of saint brocks incessant pessimism. That last comment takes the biscuit.

If you'd have kept an eye on Ralph's statements and interviews about thrbclub and it's transfer policy you would know that he is more than happy with what has been going on and I imagine has had quite an active role in deciding who to let go/sell/loan and who, if any, to bring in.
Nick is right in his reasons for going tonight. And that is exactly what RALPH is asking for...SUPPORT for our team, our players, our youngsters and our club. If you only support teams based on their transfers might it be more worthwhile to support someone else?..
I'll be there, with 2 mates, in the cold, itchen north, encouraging the team towards a positive result.

i'll be there knowing that even if we win against a very good palace side the home win wold be as rare as hens teeth and even if we win 4-0 we are still only 6 points from relegation which in the current climate is nothing so you boys keep clapping but we are not a club measured by our success on the pitch.

I wish you all well and hope you enjoy the match.

Sad that you came on here SaintBlonde for the first time just to castigate me, let's see who is closer to the truth in the summer.
