We played a weakened team in a competition where the top two leagues' clubs all at times play second choice teams.
Ie it's not just us !!
It's common place...
And you very well know that 24 out of the 25 pages on the Leicester thread is yourself thinking everyone is being incredibly unkind in your direction and by yourself, responding by insulting any poster that you deem to have abused you.
If that's the controversy then you can call it such....
I think it's easier to be amazingly creative or have ingenious thoughts when you are struggling because your own brain can be incredibly complex.
And some ways of thinking, if you look at it from a different angle, can be amusing or funny in the way decisions or ideas pan out.
I used to contribute to a mental health charities newsletter, many moons ago, and when I read back some of the articles I wrote then, these thoughts would simply be impossible for me to produce now, being on the straight and narrow for many years now.
Yes and supporting a football club such as ourselves can almost mimic a bipolar experience. Sometimes we are sailing proudly up above cloud nine, and almost as suddenly we can dip into the depths of darkness. A simplified example but sure you get the drift.
Yes and Tony Slattery you could see was almost teetering on an all too frequent ledge.
A very clever man who was way too critical of himself..
Struggled with alcohol and his mental health. BiPolar diagnosis.
Very sharp wit accompanied by a massive vulnerability but it has been reported he was finally enjoying his life, when life had been a consistent struggle for him.
I might start a poll about the uses of Stainrods Elbow on a fans forum - is it to entertain or as you say to be the spawn of the devil's never ever regions !!!
I was under the impression his contract was already for four years anyhow.
But his salary must have been ramped up as was signed to be in the development squad and if the contract has been extended also, then that's very fine work. Keep this guy for as long as we can !!
We lost a match and fielded a slightly under strength team against a first eleven premiership team.
Nearly all of your options bar one are saying on the evidence of one game, I have lost all respect for Marti.
Good God- no !!!
The man is our most important and influential employee since Warnock and Taraabt.
We have one defeat in eleven in the league and are currently 13th in the Championship - that's a position we have rarely attained in recent seasons and we have a developing squad and a few decent young players finding their feet also.
The guy has been here 15 months and has shown his qualities.
What this game was, is six shots on target and six goals.
A Championship outfit may get two or three there but not all six.
You seem to want to get angry with Marti over one game. And sod the last eleven..
Not sure what you are implying but it seems you are just looking for a time to moan. Now is not that time.
But yes let's get rid !!!!!
Would not desire yourself as my line manager Stainrod. One bad day and I would be presented with my P45 !!!
On the other side, Spurs realistically could have done what Newcastle have done with Ashby with Morgan. But they sold him to ourselves as a young man and he is getting game time five years younger than Ashby has.
I should imagine Ashby - being at a rich premier league club like Newcastle - will have earned a lot more than Morgan will, by the time he is 23, but Morgan has a greater chance now to have a better long term career as things stand than Ashby.
As a loan, perhaps but a lot of his data, I doubt fits in with our way these days also.
He would be quite expensive also.
The only thing that makes me think it could be possible is his versatility and in particular in three areas where it would give us added depth ie left back, left midfield and centre midfield.
Clearly has been a top quality player ie been part of squads that won the premier league, F A Cup and title winners in the championship and at 32, possibly 18 months of potentially decent performances.
But for me, too old, too many injuries and past his best. A player coming here for his semi retirement is not the type of player we want today.
Think we have had our fingers burnt with this type of recruitment too many times in years gone by and the other factor, he won't be cheap.
I don't think this will have any impact on our league form.
We found out yet again, Ashby can take too many risks, and Madsen strangely isn't able to perform for ourselves. I had hoped eventually he would have a decent game here and there but sadly I think his goose has been well and truly cooked. Think we should try to either sell him or more likely loan him out now.
But prem relegation teams to mid table championship, the gap is huge.
I never like to pick out players and from all I hear about the man's character is that he is a decent human being, and I had hoped he could settle and show something,
Celar likewise. Scored a brace then next game was markedly improved.
It's just not happening and this could be one of those signings we just have to write off. Would love to be proved wrong but unfortunately I cannot see this to be the case
