There were raised expectations at the end of 23/24. Most were pleased with the Summer recruitment. However, unsurprisingly, quite a few of the new intake took time to settle. I don't see us doing, or needing to do, a huge amount of business in January nor this coming Summer. But with the youngsters tied down, is there any reason why we can't have a solid tilt at the top 6? Am I being over optimistic? |

We've been the better side. We created the only 2 clear cut chances but Grimshaw saved them both. They can't cope with Smyth's pace, so, I hope we exploit that more in H2. I wonder if Marti might use Lloyd instead of Kolli as a sub with some pace. |

That's credible. Even so, consecutive announcements generate a feel good factor. Expect more next week, then? |

Been a good week off the field. Morgan, Lloyd and, now, Kolli. 3 young players tied down on long-term, whatever that means, deals. In time, they could take us to the PL OR, more likely, be sold on for good fees. The latter could fund further improvements. It worked for Brentford and Brighton. |

1 point per game from here would get us to 52. And breathe. However, on current form a push towards the top 6 is not, completely, out of the question. In the short term we have Plymouth, Hull, Wednesday and Millwall. So nothing scary there. It's when we have to play Leeds, Burnley and Sheff U, all at home, that will be the real test of how far this team can go. |

There certainly seems to be a philosophy of recruiting young players with potential. If only one succeeds, those trying to sell our Academy to kids and their parents will have a decent story to tell. Got to be better than using Sterling who left us ages ago. |

If you knew of a 23yo striker who gets close to 20 goals in a season in L1, then QPR would be among a clutch of clubs interested. Let us see what happens. |

Over the last 18 months I've been to Lille, Lyon and Bordeaux. Not fir football matches, though. All 3 are lovely stadia. On a par with the best of the PL grounds. Lille is the easiest to get to as the Eurostar goes directly from St Pancras. [Post edited 16 Jan 16:04]

Depends if you're looking up or down. If up, you want Blackburn to lose. Increasing our chances of getting a playoff slot, however slim that would be. If down, you want as many teams below us as possible, including Portsmouth. BRFC end up winning 3-0. |

That was his 11th this season. Not always a starter, though. |

Kelly Cates used to present the Sky Sports equivalent of EFL highlights. Chapman has done MOTD2 for ages. Gabby Logan has presented virtually every other sports programme for Beeb. 3 decent choices. |

Now sold out the full allocation of 1769. Good turnout. |

The Akindilili seems to have some legs. However, he is an Aberdeen supporter so he may stay put. Waddingham has signed for Portsmouth, though. |

So did I. Never knew him. Obviously, I never achieved as much or had to deal with the fame. RIP. |
