Thorpe + Rosenoir on Brizzle game
at 13:11 16 Dec 2024

Should have been at the Oxford game!

Needs must at the moment. So many players out injured, poor recruitment leaving us short in key positions and some out of form means a point away is great from a third game week.
Sooner that than have Marti be like Russell Martin.

Dunne will be moved/dropped once a better right back is brought in. He is a sort of anti Cifuentes football style type player, a bit like Sam Field. Lots of heart on sleeve, huffing and puffing, but you won't improve as a team with them as first choice.
I don't think he'll be here next season anyway.

I'd like to see Ashby given a run at right back, just so we can actually see what he is actually like when playing in his correct position.
I've got a feeling he might be pretty good and if we could sign him permanently then we should.
He was very highly thought of at West Ham and they did everything to keep him. So he must have something about him.

When I was a kid definitely. Plus painting my QPR Subbuteo team to reflect the ethnic diversity of our team!

Yes, we definitely need Paal back in. Yet again, though, people moaning about the symptom, not the cause of why Ashby is even playing left back.

Start the season with one left back, and this is what happens. That is indefensible. So, to everyone slagging Ashby off (who I agree has been poor) I'm afraid it's tough luck. With Paal out (again) he's our only option, so we should get behind because we need him.

Odds on Paal getting injured again as his contract expiry date nears?

Nourry out/Marti in.

The 80s looking back was quite an interesting time for comedy.
You had, what I suppose, was the last hurrah of the old music hall and working mens clubs like Cannon & Ball etc, but then the alternative comedy came along and blew it out the water.
I loved Ben Elton, Alexei Sayle, Blackadder, and Who's Line Is It Anyway. Plus, the US imports of Rosanne and Cheers.

Up there in the pantheon of greats, along with Little and Large, Cannon and Ball, Russ Abbott and Les Dennis.

As a kid I thought they weren't funny, and 40 years later, watching that again, hasn't made me change my mind. Awful.

Agree. How many of us on here were questioning giving contracts to 23/24 years like Charlie Owen etc who were never going to make it.
I've criticised Nourry regarding transfers, but with regards to the player pathway it does feel more joined up as you pointed out with how many 16/17 year olds are already playing Development games.

Fingers crossed a couple make the grade with us.

Possibly the lowest quality game I've watched in nearly 40 years, and that is saying something. We were dreadful, Oxford will be relegated.

I have never read such twaddle. He seems to have forgotten that he is paid to win football games.

Then, the club should have brought in another left back or not let Larkeche go out on loan. But, they chose the opposite.
He's playing out of position, and he's not hiding like some previous loans. Is it ideal? No, but the club caused this problem, so we should support him.

Going to ask a very stupid question here. Why doesn't MC just swap Dunne and Ashby? Seems a pretty obvious thing to do to my non expert eyes.

Is three in a row possible?

Will the Archibald Leach eleven fold in front of a resurgent Rangers? Will we continue to see Kolli-flower? Does Marti Cifuentes get better looking every time QPR wins?

The Ancient Astronaut theorists say,'YES'! Again!!

A difficult game away, but we are tough to break down. I'm going for a grinding 1-0 win (though a point would be fantastic).

You've got to cut Ashby some slack. He's a right footer playing left back, same as Morrison, and we look lopsided because of it.

As has been discussed on other threads, this is what happens when you only go into a season with one left back.

MOtM for me today. Dominant in midfield second half, after an excellent game against Norwich and Watford.

Said a few weeks that he is going to be the key player this season, we've not had anyone like him for years.

Always gone on, disgusting. Shame UEFA don't grow a pair and just refuse to send teams, but they are as bad as FIFA.

No European teams, no World Cup.

If he was any good we'd be busting a gut to get him to sign a new contract. We spent the summer trying to offload him, says it all really.
He'll be gone in the summer along with Cook, Colback, Anderson, Dunne and maybe Chair.

All change.
