Now I don't know the finer details of the rule book these days but from that video it was firstly premeditated and secondly he used his arm which caught him in the neck/face. My guess is that McLean was trying to stop Morgan but quite possibly was just sticking his arm out and didn't realise he had caught him that high up but surely it's no defence for a premeditated action. |

Thanks for posting we were not that far away, from where we were sitting but missed the incident itself. What we did watch was McLean bitching and moaning at Morgan after he had cleaned him out with his arm, now that I've seen the video, we didn't like what he was doing at the time, now we just know he's a very nasty piece of work.... Thanks so do we think that he is the poster Nico who posts on here occasionally, we are the club he has supported since he was a boy, he did some amazing work to get our fine reduced, not forgetting we were punished by the old FFP rules which were proved not fit for purpose. |

Agreed Cook will be 34 in April but hes got more football in him at Championship level yet, leads by example, also it would be criminal to let Jimmy Dunne leave on a free. |

Very good thread title, I'm hoping for a draw today, we've proved we can defend away from home, shame Varane is rested he's started to show some bite in midfield. |

If you've bothered to read the thread the majority on here appear to want Mr Nourry out of our club, mainly on the grounds he is far too inexperienced to be given the job and he certainly isn't qualified to be a Director of Football. The majority on here want to keep Marti and for Mr Nourry to move on to pastures new.... |

So thanks to the Central line we missed the first 30 minutes yesterday but what I saw I enjoyed, we competed and gave Stoke a game, with a bit of luck we would have had three points, a huge improvement on the Middlesbrough game but then that's because Stoke are nowhere near as good as Boro. Now Tom Cannon has always looked class from the first time we saw him at Loftus Road put two goals past us when he was on loan at Preston, if he had been wearing blue and white hoops yesterday we very likely would have won. Bennys post hit the nail on the head, Marti has to stay and Nourry has to go, it's pointless moaning about the owners, Rubén and Amit are good people who genuinely want the club to be successful, we are not going to find another owner in our current situation and it would be Admin again if they leave...... We need somebody at the top again with experience as a Director of Football combining the job with CEO saved money but has been a disaster, running a football club is not all about analytics. |
| Forum Reply | Rangers v the Oat Cake Eaters match thread at 10:10 23 Nov 2024
Yup the biggest issue is we can't score goals so we need to try something different, Celar is struggling as a lone striker so the 3-5-2 formation would give him support. As mentioned elsewhere the forward options are not good so we need to defend well and make sure we don't lose the midfield battle, giving Celar a bit of support may be a game changer, we need to try something he's struggling massively as the lone striker. |

Surely that's the owners decision and if they are mad enough to sack Marti then the CEO / Director of Football laughably has to go as well, the buck stops there...... Marti proved last season he can do a great job he's not the problem..... [Post edited 21 Nov 9:17]

Interesting you are correct I shouldn't have said Nourry thought that's my fault, as you rightly say this Forum is all about opinions and the good thing is they are very diverse. That said the person who has to take responsibility for the Summers transfer strategy surely has to be the CEO, now it might have been the Director of Football but we have scrapped that role and given it to the inexperienced CEO. None of us know what sort of process took place with regard to the actual transfers, we all hope there was some collaboration with the Manager but it definitely looks hugely analytical driven, do we think any scouting of the players took place. The ban on giving Clive any interviews is very telling, just one interview with the Manager would clear up a lot of the Unknowns, how can anybody say it's all going to plan, relegation looks highly likely and that will also impact any transfer fees we may possibly get, priority number 1 was to build a plan that kept the club in the division whilst developing new players..... |
| Forum Reply | Twenty minutes Marti, you and the head of the cod – Column at 10:18 19 Nov 2024
Superb stuff Dorse, made me laugh a number of times and your thoughts pretty much sum up how I feel, Marti needs the right ingredients for sure he's working with scraps. If the plan is to get in 10 players with potential in the hope that one comes good for market then it's a massive gamble which could well see us in League one. Thanks for the much needed humour, it's been pretty grim up till now but I still think Marti is the man for the job...... |
| Forum Reply | Fan Mobilisation - Nourry Out at 09:45 19 Nov 2024
Wow I find this truly amazing that anybody can say it's going to plan, having won only one game, playing some poor football and only getting points with backs to the wall defending. We all know that the club needs to make money and getting prospects in, giving them experience and selling them on is exactly the model that got Brentford promoted, it's been discussed on here till the "cows come home", that market has also shrunk in the last few years and you need top quality players to be bought by a Premiership club to make decent money. The strategy in the Summer was far too one eyed, only going for players from abroad and not looking at the UK market, we brought in 10 new players and some of them needed to have Championship experience to give us a fighting chance of avoiding relegation. Not sure if you ever been involved in Project Management but when putting your strategy together you would assess every different factor before making your extensive plans for the next season and number one priority for the owners and the football club is don't get relegated, the transfer strategy was a massive gamble. Getting Championship players has worked before a certain Mr Warnock did it very successfully, there's nothing wrong in getting some older heads in to work with the younger prospects until they get up to speed. Trouble is Nourry thought exactly along the lines you have described I presume a massive coincidence, there's plenty of posts on this thread and the Marti out one by Nico and Hunter explaining why Nourry is out of his depth, if he's going to stay then he needs a Director of Football. Nobody has a problem looking further afield for new players in the slightest, it was something that needed to be done but it was done at the exclusion of looking at any players already in the UK. The squad needed a balance of new players, the Championship is unforgiving and a better league than people realise as a lot of quality has filtered down from the Premiership. We needed some of the new influx to have some Championship level experience, when you compare our recruitment to the rest of the division it looks poor and we spent money for a change. The budget that the club were working with was never going to allow for more than about 10 players, we are not Nottingham Forest we can't manipulae the transfer market, you need a second club to be able to hide transfer fees. Having lost some key players it was critical that we recruited well, now it's all personal opinion but a number of the new players look out of their depth, as a club we don't have the time to spend a whole season seeing if we can bring them up to speed. We don't know they only use data, which is true but I think nearly everything points to the fact that none of the players were actually scouted by the club, how many times do you think any of them were watched before we actually bought them. Everyone wanted Dykes gone, I'm not sure where you get that from, the bloke added a lot to the team in his hold up and link up play, admittedly he let himself down as he wasn't quick and couldn't dribble with the ball etc but the point being we've replaced him with Celar who looks a lot worse, were suffering because Frey is injured whose marginally better than Dykes. It's an absolute mess on the striker front we should never have gone into this season with only Celar and Frey as strikers. We should of pushed for getting a striker on loan, there were options out there..... The list goes on we should have signed a left back, according to a thread on here Hayden was an option but we went for Ashby , so we ditched getting Championship experience for a right back whose on loan from Newcastle. We don't know contract lengths that's for sure and it's embarrassing, Nourry thinks he can hide information from the fans that in some way gives him a tactical advantage, its a joke .... So the CEO has said that the signings are a collaborative process, how do we know that or have some of them just been dumped on Marti and he's been told to get on with it as he's the Head Coach, we are obviously not going to know any of the facts because Nourry has stopped our Manager doing interviews, is that not possibly telling that the CEO is frightened of what he might say.... There is a big injury list which is contributing to the clubs current situation, with a bit of luck it may improve but don't hold your breath, Marti deserves huge credit for last season in keeping us up I personally just don't want him made to be the scapegoat. |

Bump - Sadly no news of his sacking yet, because one things for sure he won't walk. Somebody posted that people are against him because of his age and he's posh, that's absolute rubbish, we have all given him plenty of time to create a stable club but all the points posted by 1JD on page 5 are damning evidence, we need somebody with experience in the position who is not just relying on analytics. |

Everything about this thread screams GET NOURRY OUT...... |
| Forum Reply | Fan Mobilisation - Nourry Out at 09:08 13 Nov 2024
Yup the points Ned made are true but it's your last paragraph which is telling, we've all given Nourry the benefit of the doubt from day one, i was shocked that we had given the job to a 26 year old, but I thought to myself don't be ageist, just because I'm a Senior fan (lol) , everybody deserves a chance. The posts made by Nico and Hunter on the MC out thread on Nourry are very telling and the list of Nourrys decisions on our strategy on page 5 of this thread by 1JD are very damning. The owners mainly Rubén are going to have to make a decision in the next couple of weeks, do we stick or twist because by January it will be too late, ok we can't get any more players in before January but somebody has to decide whether we stick with the Manager and I feel he has been given very little support, just get on and coach seems to be the attitude. Absolutely I wake up now worrying what this child running our club is going to do next, he needs to be sacked because he won't walk, he's on a nice six figure salary and he won't walk away from that, Lee Hoos should resign for appointing him. Can we also stop posting on the MC has to go thread unless you have some weird desire to get rid of a manager who has been stitched up by the CEO, most of the posts on there are highlighting the dubious career statistics of Nourry, fraud takes on all sorts of guises. The manager has been let down in so many ways and after his miraculous escape act last season he deserves the right to try and dig us out of this hole, any new manager will just be working with the same players and that's the big problem, how have we let somebody so inexperienced to have the keys to the finances and dictate all strategy. Waking up to see articles on the Internet of Gregory Vignal eyed for QPR job as former Rangers star on shortlist to replace Marti Cifuentes is madness, the bloke has zero experience so I guess that would attract Nourry, I'm sure most would agree without the injuries we would very likely be in a better position and that's not Martis fault.
