St Gallens ground inside and outside reminded me of going to the likes of Millwall& Birmingham in the 1980's, a horrible dark cold sh1thole place covered in grafitti with little wanna be hooligans hanging around looking to pick off small groups , we were all boxed in to a tiny part of the ground with high fences and netting up to the roof,you could hardly see the pitch plus with the fog you'd swear there was no football match going on!
But I do agree if this was the 1st leg then St Gallen fans would not have been wondering around Swansea like they owned the place,I remember after the Panathanikos home game the police had their work cut out that night.I think we are light years ahead the likes of these kind of clubs now who look up to the old British/English hooligan and try and act like they did 20/30 years ago.
Anyone else see that "cardiff fan"? He soon disappeared when he realised there were Swansea fans in that stand aswell

I was out there and had no problems whatsoever, neither did I see any problems at Malmo away. I had a good drink at both games and mixed with away fans.
There were undoubtedly problems of some sort at the Irish bar but all the accounts I heard were second hand and not one actual direct witness has told me what happened, it may well be no more than a storm in a tea cup.
On our arrival at the St Gallen stadium we went around to the D section (the opposite side to us) by mistake and eat and drunk with their fans with no problems. The stadium does not look too clever with broken seats, netting, "interesting" toilets and graffiti everywhere but that was obviously done by away fans.
There were quite a few Swans fans in the home end near us who didn't appear to have any problem despite wearing colours. Not something I would suggest you try in a ground in our league.
It was a really good trip (apart from the game) and would recommend St Gallen as a pleasant interlude to league football. |  |

There were a few problems near the station will some young St Gallen fans looking to be heroes.
Around the ground and in the shopping complex there were no issues but the mass riot police in attendance suggested they do have problems.
The ground itself was especially the way end had an 80's feel to it with the netting and fencing.
The Cardiff fan turning up his his blue top sitting in the next block was all a bit bizarre, who were those two blokes who chucked him out?

They were police football liaison/intelligence officers who chucked him out.

Just got home, had a whale of a time.
I thought the swiss were great, but we stayed in zurich. there they couldn't do enough for you. lost count of the amount of drinks we had bought for us. which was handy, considering the extortionate prices.

Most people surged away, a few launched the only things they had to hand ie pint glasses, but in fairness the landlord sprung over the bar with what looked like a mini fire extinguisher filled with tear gas and forced them back through the door pretty sharpish.
It all felt a bit surreal and everything went back to normal within minutes. We stayed in there for a while, and numerous local came up to me apologising for their stupid minority. | | | |
