W postcodes that are in H&F but far enough away from Fulham with possible land that could accomodate a ground and has the transport links - parts of Acton, The Bush and thats it.

Park Royal it is

get the feeling if we were moving too far from HQ then TF would have put feelers out to gauge reaction, the fact that he's going ahead with announcement suggests he doesn't expect any objections.

When are the BBC moving out? I know the white City building was mentioned some time back.

Wishful thinking. I just dont think we'll be in W12. Hope so, but gut feeling says no.

Who owns Wormholt Park?

They way I see it if we leave W12 then there's no need for a multi-purpose stadium because we'll be nowhere anybody will want to go.

Sharing with a rugby team and putting a cinema on the site is not the answer either, there's no money in rugby and there are plenty of cinema's (Westfields).

Probably be better off going down the same route as Spurs and having a partner who'll rent a store off us like Sainsburys as well as some housing and maybe a hotel. As with everything else the closer to London (transport links) the more valuable these things will be, the real question is whether the Mittals and TF are willing to invest the money to buy a serious piece of land on which to do it.

If they are willing then the rewards will be there when the project is completed.

think they are supposed to leave 2013 , the sites is around 15 acres which is big enough for a new ground and any add on they want to build , a new hotel is pretty much certain as the hilton at the top of the bush green needs a huge redevelopment to bring it up to date

We are in the Premier League this season because of the layout of Loftus Road aided and abbetted by ourselves .
We played a massive part in the last few games .

Seeing the stadium light up when we win a corner and the oppos are reeling still impresses me . especially at night.

Or when Mata point blank refused to take a corner.

Priceless!

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

Realistically how long can we stay at LR playing in front of 18k spending money on players and paying the going rate in PL wages. We have to move.

It's penned in between railway tracks and the canal next to the cemetary. The main road in is by Sainsbury's, where all the busses turn around so there would be many objections.

Shame because I'd love to see Rangers come home.

Ive never wanted to leave Loftus Road, but as our crowds have increased to c17k you can see the problems with the place currently.

Regarding the atmosphere, although brilliant for the past couple of years, it wasn't that long ago that LR was a good place for a kip with <10k others.

Looking forward to seeing the plans.

There's also a big pitch to build a 'Portobello' Crossrail station on that site - I live round there as well and get leaflets about it twice a week

A painful but probably necessary move. Going to be a nightmare if we don't "grow" and end up relegated with smaller crowds again. I think QPR fans need to start having a shite load more kids.

Wonder what will happen to the Springbok?

And the chippers!

Some great posts. I've been going to LR since 74 and will miss it immensely when we leave. However I want the club to again become the force that it was in the 70s and whilst we may never compete with the Liverpools, Arsenals etc of this world we need to give ourselves a better chance to compete with Villa, Everton, West Ham, etc and a new stadium is a must.

I understand Clive's points but the fact remains that the infrastructure at LR cannot cope with crowds of 17,000+ (toilets and refreshments particularly). Additionally it becomes a matter of economics. TF has bankrolled things so far but he is a businessman and that is not a viable long term scenario, we have to give ourselves a chance to become more self-sufficient (one day).

So QPR competing in the Premiership for me and I'll embrace a new stadium with open arms (hoping so much that the lessons of Coventry etc are taken on board). I'll shed a tear with everyone else on that final day at LR....

All great stuff. The key thing will be getting the ticket prices right. We don't have the draw at the moment to charge silly prices. Get it wrong and well be the laughing stock with thousands of empty seats. Get it right and we'll fill the ground.

TF on Twitter on 21:33 - Jul 6 with 845 viewsstowmarketrange

Some very posts on this subject.
My own views are mixed. On the one hand It would great to get a new purpose built stadium. But the cons of a new ground include all those plastic fans we will have to attract to fill it up.Lots of us on here slag off the teams in SW6 for having JCLs,and that will be what we're relying on to generate income.

I know it is in the best interests of the club, but who wants to see their team in a ground full of tourists?

TF on Twitter on 21:35 - Jul 6 with 837 viewsandygg

My idea of a great multi-use Stadium would be:

40k seats, close to pitch, great atmosphere, closing roof.
Good eateries.
Casino.
Lap dancing club.

Make it so.

TF on Twitter on 21:47 - Jul 6 with 1128 viewsKingshillJr

I think the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg is the direction we should be looking in. Not a bowl, close to the pitch, two tiered (if we shared with wasps or similiar to only open the bottom tier) an unusual shape so will stand out from other british grounds, and a similar capacity to what we would need (30,000 or so)
