FA statement incident in the 24 th minute not seen by the ref…ie when he cleaned out Kieran Morgan…as everyone said red card all day

That would also make sense! Although he did have a previous four game ban

Maybe that was a frivolous appeal?

I think the Facebook clip shows that McLean saw Morgan coming and that he swung his arm to deliberately stop Morgan in his tracks. Why else would McLean have moved in such a way? He wasn't bothered where his arm landed on Morgan. It was an intended and reckless action.

The idea that McLean deliberately set out to do him, rather than (unintentionally) catching him.

Which is only a neutral's pov to support the point being made by a few other QPR fans on here.

Nothing more neutral than a wet Brentford fan on a QPR website....

OK, far more forceful than I believed, only having seen the other clip. FA right, I was wrong

You dont know what Cookie was saying.. might have to ask him

On another note...given the conveyor belt of red cards we were getting (Varane Colback) and impact on our won/loss record I am not unhappy to see us not retaliate and abdicate points...which Norwich might have been instigating.

If that's directed at me, you'll note that I agree it deserved a red card. But my point was that by using his arm the way he did, it was more reckless than had he used his elbow, which would have been malicious.

But both get red carded these days, so McLean can't complain imo.

I only bottled him, your honour. If I'd wanted to hurt him, I would have glassed him.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Norwich Fan, QPR Bond holder!

Not taking anything away from the actual incident, what most Norwich Fans are more angry about is how the FA has dealt with it. Why did they go back and look at it?, and if they were going to do it why wait until 3hours before kick off to say our player was banned for 4 matches? Had that happened in game and he got a red then you'd have a few days of game planning rather than last minute unplanned changes.

Not sure what's got into the squad recently but they've got scrappy, think it was 6 yellows in the last match! That will now be 8 games banned for Kenny before Christmas which is disgraceful for our "captain"

If you hear our manager's comments after the Portsmouth match he isn't arguing the legitimacy of the foul, his concern is it is now opening up a new precedent for retrospective punishment. It sounds like he will send a list to the FA.

This was his quote
"I’ve never had anything like that in my career. I will have to go through every Championship game to clearly find incidents in all the games."

"And of course, we need to appeal them. I've never seen anything like this, but they opened the door for a new strategy, a new way of working, and a new competition for us, because I expect that the same will happen to all the other teams. Otherwise, we don't compete on equal terms."

Let's not forget your player smacking Sainz in the face in the 3rd minute for example, What stops the FA from coming back and retrospectively banning there?

The Match before you was Luton and the referee's decisions were awful, we've had so many bad calls this year and I think we've put in a few complaints which may be why they've reviewed our matches.

But it is more a question of is the FA going to retrospectively be reviewing every match like some after-event VAR. I don't expect the club to take this lightly and could be opening a can of worms for the football league. I guess its a kind of "watch this space"

I can't believe your manager doesn't know that if an incident is missed by the referee and not punished then they will review it after the game. If he'd have booked him, it wouldn't have been reviewed even if it should have been a red. Think the rules have been like that for years.

Referee probably has it in his notes that Morgan claimed he'd been hit in the head, so that's why they reviewed it.

The timing I agree is poor but I imagine the club knew about it earlier if they appealed it. So might be worth clarifying when the initial decision was made. The club should have been aware sooner and planned for the appeal failing.

I don't know anything about your manager but the teams mentality Saturday and his comments on this suggests his trying to create an "us against the world" attitude with the team, which given the resources at his disposal seems odd. That said it worked well for Neil Warnock at various clubs back in the day.
