General league comments 20:17 - Aug 4 with 4678 views | Hunterhoop | I’ll begin. Southampton look a bit good. I hope it’s just that Wednesday are absolutely dreadful. Could be a cricket score.
General league comments on 20:38 - Aug 4 with 4609 views | ted_hendrix | I'm not watching tonights game as I flatly refuse to have anything to do with Sky. I do know that Southampton will 'walk' this league especially If they can hang onto Ward-Prowse' Give Southampton a free kick just outside of your box and Ward-Prowse will duly score with either foot. We can only wish and sort of *sigh* for such players.

General league comments on 20:47 - Aug 4 with 4577 views | LongsufferingR | Well I've had a right result anyway. Backed Armstrong for 1st goal. Tella scored a worldie but they've given it to Armstrong because it touched a hair on his head on the way in!
General league comments on 20:48 - Aug 4 with 4567 views | BostonR | Has to be one of the most one-sided 45mins I have seen for quite a few seasons. Either Southampton are just really brilliant or Sheffield Wed are shockingly bad and I mean bad. They’ve done well to keep it at 1-0.
General league comments on 22:15 - Aug 4 with 4439 views | terryb | It looked like a typical Martin performance after the opening 20 minutes. At the start Southampton played all of their football in the final third, but after scoring they decided they had done enough & stopped going forward. The winning goal came from a very good move at a time when they didn't look as if they were bothered about winning. 15 minutes addded time, 6 in the first half when there had been hardly any stoppage. Expect the game tomorrow to still being played at 5.10pm! And cautions given for offences that wouldn't have been considered last season.

I know. The ridiculous thing is these new rules may have meant our team of polite, young boys would have won a hell of a lot more points in seasons gone by. Now we’re led by Ainsworth and signing a load of gnarly old pros and need to employ the dark arts….
General league comments on 20:40 - Aug 8 with 4052 views | Hunterhoop | Not the league, admittedly, but the League Cup! Some barmy scores this evening currently. Championship teams not faring well against League 1 and 2 sides. Obviously they are resting players but doesn’t say much for squad depth. Watford drawing with Stevenage…

Have reached the point where this, plus the suggestion that Sheff Wed are really, really bad, are the most encouraging things I've heard so far this week.

They could be champions for all we know so that 4-0 wasn't as bad as you think and as for Stevenage they are up there with Man City
General league comments on 08:16 - Aug 9 with 3347 views | Hayesender | Stevenage boss Steve Evans told BBC Three Counties: "Watford have paid us a huge compliment - they made only a goalkeeper change from a team that tore Queens Park Rangers apart. "Having watched that game twice, it could have been double that (4-0) score. So when you look at the team you know they're going to be on the front foot and full of confidence. "We struggled to deal with it and after 15 minutes we changed our shape and the momentum of the game changed. "Then, over the first half and the second half, we should probably have won it in normal time. We got in some good areas. "We got the goal and a bit of momentum and looked on the front foot. "It's a win in the Carabao Cup, which is great, but the focus immediately turns to playing Shrewsbury here (on Saturday)."

I guess we really softened Watford up on Saturday. Fair play to Stevenage. I can’t hear myself think for alarm bells now.

| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

8 Championship sides went out last night, most to lower league opponents. Southampton changed their side completely, but Watford and Millwall were virtually full strength

Millwall getting done 4-0 at home by Reading with a full team out is properly weird, especially having played well and won up at Boro on Sat. Still holding out hope Huddersfield and Sheff Wed are rubbish and not sure Preston are going to be much this season. Cardiff on Sat is such a big game. If they stuff us comfortably I think we’re fcuked. If we draw or, somehow, win, then we have a chance and Watford can hopefully be consigned to history. I think good teams could still torch us, but we have got to be competitive against the dross, which Cardiff most certainly were last season.

He is gone to West Ham which is no surprise and they added Harry too .Spending the Rice money well because JWP will score goals and HM can get on a few corners still .
