Eric Sabin must be the king of this.
was at that game. my car key fell out of my coat pocket onto the terrace. Luckily they let me back in and i found it, otherwise that would have been an expensive weekend.

I parked in Blomfontein and got my car towed. That was an expensive afternoon. Worth it to see us beat Lutown 6-1 and Parker score as well.

Danny Westwood. One appearance and one goal-aganst Leicester I think, in the disallowed Phil Parkes "goal" match although I may be wrong on the latter point..

Rednapp legend Modibo Maïga
Always makes me laugh that one. Total fcking crap, like literally one of the worst footballers you'll ever watch. I did a piece in the lead up to that game saying as much, saying it was a ridiculous signing, saying that it was ludicrous that one Charlie Austin injury had sent a club that already had Zamora and Johnson into the market for Doyle and Keane and Benayoun and Morrison and now Maiga as well... and of course he scored, basically with his first touch. May have only been from a yard, may have been a chance that even Coney/Hugill couldn't miss, but there it was. I got absolute pelters. Early days of Twitter, and on facebook, absolutely pasted.
I'd do a Partridge and say needless to say I had the last laugh, but it wasn't funny watching that cnt for the next three months.

I’m sure George Kulscar (sp?) only got the one in his memorable stint with us….
Edit: Quick Google search shows he got the first in the 6:0 at home to Palace, the year we stayed up under Gerry 2.0. To think I was actually there! A decent strike, despite the questionable spirit of the game.

Barry Salvage scored 1 in 21 for us in the early 70’s before the analytics dept at Griffin Park picked him up. He was the best player anybody had ever played against at Brentford and went on to score 8 goals in 81, before being sold to Millwall for £25 gazillion + add ons.

You had me going there until Tamas Priskin. More chance of a bollard scoring than him.

Eric Sabin must be the king of this.
Indeed, but we got the biggest bang for his buck with that first away win Grimsby probably for like, ever.
Still remember an away game at Brentford where Gallen was ignoring him so blatantly I concluded if I stuck my hand up he was more likely to pass to me than Sabin.
Here's Nutt's solitary goal for us - not sure of the game. Debuted at 16, did his cruciate a few weeks later, and that was that for his pro career, sadly, after which he became a taxi driver. As he said himself, these days he'd be out for 6-9 months tops.
Just looked up old Sammy di Carmine, had a semi-decent career in Serie B and just signed for Cremonense, newly promoted to Serie A. 99 league goals he's scored, haven't the foggiest how.
I really thought Ishmael Miller had something in that Leicester game - it was like having a fit Lukaku roaring around the Championship terrifying the life out of defenders.
