Hopefully some remember back in Mar 2015 I posted a link to a charity that was raising funds for a special bed for a terminally ill orphanage parent to help her have some comfort through her illness, there was a good response and a significant amount was raised by Rs from https://www.hibs.net/showthread.php?298829-Dnipro-Appeal-Ira-s-Cancer-Fundraisin Mentioned here. Thought some would like a little feedback albeit many years later.
Shows the power of our great game and the chance of a UEFA cup game in 2005 having an impact on these kids. Stevie Carr (who I don’t know) is a remarkable man and I hope that the politicians step aside enough so he gets due recognition. From what I can gather he won’t seek publicity but deserves credit for his selfless work over 17 years. Hopefully more good news stories to come sooner rather than later

Dnipro Kids orphans on 12:08 - Mar 18 with 1853 views
My Dad’s forever bringing up the Dnipro Kids charity when talking about the good that football can do. Remarkable what can grow out of a European tie. I know he’s had backing from the Hibs support and wider community, but Stevie Carr’s an absolute hero for all that he’s done to help those kids over the years. We’re lucky to have people like him quietly out there doing good. Top man and a top Hibby.
