Papertalk About Andre Ayew 12:22 - Oct 12 with 1849 views | MartinSwan | Just starting to appear that Brighton and West Brom might be considering a late bid for Andre this week. The owners will be happy that could be lots of transfer fees coming in and no time to spend it.
Papertalk About Andre Ayew on 13:21 - Oct 12 with 1787 views | ReslovenSwan1 | The owners want a competetive team. Losing £80k per week plus a transfer fee should allow for a one year player of quality on £40k a week to replace him. Even a Harry Wilson on loan.

It would certainly 'allow' that yes. Whether such reinvestment will take place is a different matter.

I’m undecided if we have to pay off Andre’s contract probably about £3.5m left it would need to be a good offer and we need time to replace properly, and not much of that left this week We would need someone who can deliver goals not just the hope they can deliver

Ayew is a wanted man. If they offer a 2 or 3 year contract at lower wages it is still good for Andre. No need for Swansea to subsidise the deal at all. He is on £4m pa. If they offer him 2,5 for 3 years he will accept. Charlie Austin. He is on £2.5m a year and as good a guarentee of goals you are going to get. 1 in 2 in the championship. Too much for Swansea probably. They want to move on Zahore too. 1 in 4 goalscorer but blows hot and cold. He scored for Cardiff and might suit Swansea better. £1m a year but he cost them £8m a year ago.

Papertalk About Andre Ayew on 16:26 - Oct 12 with 1626 views | Chief | We probably won't find a player of his quality, willing to come to us (in the championship) for the amount of money we have left to pay him - (3mill max? ). with him out of contract in the summer no ones going to offer us much of a fee. Unless its a remarkable offer why would Andre want to leave now? He's got a hefty wage here and a juicy signing on fee as a free agent in the summer.

Security. The offers he might attract now might not be there in 12 months, if he has a poor season or injuries. He's getting older, football is a short career, the chance to play an extra year in the PL isn't something easily passed up. [Post edited 12 Oct 2020 16:30]

Yea he'll have to consider them, but are the types of club he's being linked to likely to give him that long a contract&the security that comes with it anyway? Unless something unforeseen happens, he's still going to have plenty of offers in 7/8 months time

Something unforeseen like a full season of football with no crowds, global economic collapse, a Brexit catastrophe etc. If there's a decent 3 year deal at a PL club on a table somewhere I'd imagine it would be hard to resist. He's already 2 years in the wilderness after a very poor season in Turkey before a good one with us in a second tier, while his brother enjoys the high life.

Yea but who's going to offer him a three year deal? Any club that would do that (mid table prem maybe) aren't likely to want him. As you say he's had these years in the wilderness and isn't getting any younger.

Personally I think 20k a week on 2 players, a CB and a striker are more what we need than one 40k player. Even so, it's still unlikely, we'll probably have some U23 or even U19 pushed through.

It’s not a bad shout signing the Man City player, but as a replacement for Joe Rodon, that’s a shocking decision.
