If we sell Fernandez and Mawson, we're definitely getting some decent money in while freeing up some wages. I'd be very surprised if we didn't spend some money on replacements in that scenario. | | | |

More money will go on strikers and creative midfielders..Not to forget most of the money that will be recouped from sales won't be invested in again. This is Swansea..not Newcastle.
If Amat stays..we'll sign 1 back up CB for like 2-3 m (maybe that McKenna kid) and Rodon will be promoted to be in the senior squad as 4th choice and that's it..If Amat goes as well we'll sign a starter for around 3-4 m as well instead. [Post edited 16 Jul 2018 12:06]

Van der Hoorn was an absolute rock last season. If he was British we'd be talking £25 million.
Amat has always been an excellent ball playing CB but maybe lacks some physicality, but if we are going to revert to pass and move he's better than any of our current CBs. |  |

this 'championship standard' talk is a gallon of horse sh!te. there really isnt much difference in the bottom half of the prem and the top half of the championship! any one of the bottom half could go down from the prem and any of the top half could get promoted from the championship! | | | |

So is Amat staying or leaving?
Why on earth would he prefer Championship football to La Liga or other top leagues? Surely some club would pay 5 m for him after his impressive season in Spain. If not Betis then some other club.
Plus he can probably get better wages elsewhere. At worst many clubs can match his current Swansea wages after relegation.
