Yeah, I briefly saw that. Not entirely sure whether it's required!

The explanation I heard on the radio was that the ECB want to focus on the countdown from 100 balls. IMO this will absolutely zero impact on both the numbers attending games and the quality of the English game. As you say it's change for the sake of change. Not a bad start for Glammy today.

Its like most sports, those making the decisions cannot help themselves from fiddling with the sports they're involved with, justifying their jobs perhaps.

The T20 Blast will carry on as it is, running alongside this new tournament. I wouldn't fancy bowling the last 10 ball over!!

Glamorgan 2018 cricket thread on 20:35 - Apr 20 with 6580 views | leighton1318 | Glos were 86-5 then 236 all out. Tiny bit disappointing? Glam 26-0 at close. Last few years we have been better at bowling teams out than scoring runs. Big hopes for Selman this year, who looks a good opener. But overall the batting still looks very thin. Even in the successful years around 2003-5 (or so) our last five wickets would regularly make more runs than the first five. People like Croft, Wallace, David Harrison, Kasprowicz and others could play a long innings. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Glamorgan 2018 cricket thread on 20:38 - Apr 21 with 6440 views | CopperJack | After Glamorgan shat on over 100 years of history and permanently left Swansea, effectively becoming Cardiff in all-but-name (the new Franchise will actually be called Cardiff), I never cease to marvel that people still support them. Like the MK Dons, people from Wimbledon don't support them. We get 2 games a season, games they don't want.

Well I enjoy top flight cricket, and can't really take to the lower level one day league that the villages and towns play in. Robert Croft is from my area and is Glammy's head coach, he's trying out guys from further West than even Carmarthen and he gets my vote for that.

Guys that then have to move to Cardiff because that's where the team plays. Like Robert Croft. They're Cardiff in all but name.

Loves a pint does Crofty, likes going on the pìss with the younger players after stumps have been drawn, didn't go down to well with the senior Glamorgan hierarchy

They spend more time in hotels (4 day games) than any flat or house they have. Most spend the winter abroad. Top level cricket is a different world to other week to week sports. A lead of 125 at the moment with 4 wickets in hand. [Post edited 22 Apr 2018 12:20]

Most Counties have done the same over the years look at Yorkshire they started at Bradford then moved to Leeds but you dont hear fans from Bradford say they sold out they support thier County You in Swansea still get first class cricket we have lost three games in Gwent now but Glamorgan are still my County
Glamorgan 2018 cricket thread on 12:56 - Apr 22 with 6255 views | monmouth | My friend’s son Darren Thomas from Llanelli played for Grammy. Try telling him they are ‘Cardiff’. I can’t relate to cricket any more personally. Too much biff and bosh. Even Tests are biff and bosh these days, rarely a five day chess game. Edit, glammy obvs. [Post edited 22 Apr 2018 12:56]

A great lad Darren, an in your face competitor. Learnt a lot playing with Waqar Younis A big pity he had a few niggly back problems affecting his bowling, scored quite a few runs down the order I think he left Glamorgan for Essex.
