Had one last Sunday and there was a definite lack of the traditional
(best in the world bar none) Joes flavour. Is it me or has any one else
experienced this.

Joes is a very specific taste (evaporated milk?)
My parents used to drag us past Joes and all the way out to Crescis for an Ice cream (mentalists) as they don't like the taste.
My mothers personal favourite is Fulgonis in Porthcawl. On a day out she treated my wife to this 'best icecream in the world' was funny when the Mrs said 'It isn't a patch on Joes' |  |

When I worked in Llandarcy they used to have an old boy (70's i guess) who used to drive around bare chested in an ice cream van.

I'm solely focused on getting in and out as quickly as possible as well as remembering the list of items 'er indoors has verbally volleyed in my direction as I'm walking through the front door ten minutes earlier. If I'd realised you were there there's no way I wouldn't have stopped to talk. | |

I like to make ice cream every summer, it's relatively easy to make something that tastes like Joes. Make a bog standard vanilla ice cream and add what i believe to be the secret ingredient, condensed milk. |  |
