I just don't get why anyone feels the need to abuse anyone, especially someone they don't know

Not trying to make excuses here for the tit, but I remember having a spell on here a few years back posting all kinds of shyte late at night when I was off my face and at my lowest ebb.

I know how easily this kind of thing could happen. Seems to be trial by outraged internet nerds now.

Thanks to Darran's moderating 'skills' I no longer post any shyte

Oh I agree completely, pal. My fist often fills my mouth in embarrassment at some of the nonsense I've posted over the years. Three things I refuse to discuss online or off are politics, religion and work. Makes life easy, boring and safe

Logging-on on a Saturday morning and trawling through the previous nights drunken posts used to be a thing of beauty on here

Talking of which, where did Rod get to? He never made it through to this site did he?

Which law did he break?

Last I heard, being an obnoxious c*nt wasn't a crime.

Spot on. No law as far as I know. It's basically censorship.

I think in one of the tweets he named the arrested 15 year old.

Ever since my son was... never conceived, because I've never had consensual sex without money involved... I've always kind of looked at you as... a thing, that I could live next to... in accordance with state laws.

Regardless of if he broke any laws or not there's no need for him to be saying it.

Agreed, but to jail someone doesn't a law have to be broken for it to be a crime?

8 weeks of time to play pool, watch sky sports and get stoned, that will teach him.

Make him hold a sign with his tweets in port talbot town centre, like in America.

I've been trying to find the exact crime he's been committed of, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone shed any light?

All we've got is:

"Georgina Scannell, presiding, said there was no choice but to jail Riley.

She added: "The offensive messages outraged the public. You had complete disregard for the tragic death of Ann Maguire.

"Besides this, countless other vile messages were made by you. The bench finds these were racially and religious aggravated.

"The offences are so serious that only a period of immediate custody can be justified."

To be an offence a criminal law would have had to have been broken. The magistrate is clearly wrong and needs to be re trained, if indeed she has had any

I'd imagine they would have given that's what the charge was brought under. And the legally trained clerk of the court who advises the magistrates on points of law would certainly be aware of it.

Agree with the consensus that a custodial sentence is daft. This is why our prisons are full.

I'd love to see how the w*kers on here would react if their child or parent got murdered and someone made a joke.
This fella might not have gone to jail but the c*nt deserves to be beaten to a pulp.
