Next manager 12:27 - Feb 23 with 5908 views | MedwayR | When the inevitable happens and 'arry needs replacing, who would you like to see appointed? Personally I'd do absolutely everything to get Thomas Tuchel from Mainz and give him the freedom & backing to be our Arsene Wenger. I'm sure Tuchel would have more attractive offers though...

Next manager on 16:45 - Feb 23 by stansleftfoot | TF's problem is facing and risking replacing Harry now or after the season is over. His judgement is filled with what if; Harry gets us promoted or into the Play -Offs? Do we need Premiership experience if we go up? Will Harry just get the sulks and give up because of a sore knee? I don't trust Harry Redknapp, I'd recommend TF doesn't either. Top of the list my Steve Davis at Crewe as Head Coach for a long term rebuilding project assisted by a DOF Glen Hoddle. |
That's a good shout for manager and DOF, rumours going around that Harry will be gone soon. I personally think that we will finish in md table if Harry stays.

I'm glad Spirit that you finally stated your reasons for liking Pressley after touting his name a few times yesterday. You make a fair comment, but is he really the type of manager we need? He may be good at Coventry's level and what he has done there in their circumstances is admirable, but is he fit to take on an ambitious and difficult project such as QPR? I would like a younger manager at the club and I would still vouch for someone like Adkins even if his time at Reading is sketchy at present. It seems some managers can make things tick at some clubs and not others. He still seems the type of guy who can role his sleeves up and get on with the job and he is not a reckless spendthrift type like Redknapp or the fool before him. Others I would like or admire are Di Matteo, Rosler and the fellow at Bournemouth and please as much as I like him, not Holloway. He has been there, done it and worn the QPR t shirt.

Next manager on 18:56 - Feb 23 with 1220 views | stansleftfoot | It's a awful job to do this, how many would have picked Ole Gunnar Soljkaer three months ago. It's almost more important for Tony Fernandes to state his long term plan....again....where we are now.....and what we are going to do. I get the impression Harry was short-term, but have I just imagined that or has Harry's approach and lazy approach just given me a view of short-termism. We want that Classic balance of a QPR side imbedded with hard-work, team ethic, good football...no, great football, innovation and respect for individual skill placed in a team context. By not coaching Hoillet, we let him, the team, QPR and the fan's down....we want a manager of any colour, creed or experience that is looking for these things in his side. Glen Hoddle comes with some weird stuff...ego, jesus, god (not the same are they?) but a great footballer and loves coaching his way! Great DOF, he needs somebody alongside!
Next manager on 19:05 - Feb 23 with 1213 views | RS44 | Really don't see the attraction to Mackay. Uninspiring, un attractive football and doubled a fortune on a team of no bodies. I'd opt for Mark Robbins. Done well at Coventry when under serious pressure and has done well at Huddersfield with pretty limited resources. Plays good football. On the floor & attacking.
Next manager on 19:06 - Feb 23 with 1208 views | TheBlob | I truly believe in luck as a quantifiable portion of Probability,we just haven't had the luck.On paper things should be going swimmingly with Harry but they aren't - key injuries have taken their toll.I believe Gerry Francis was similarly unblessed with good fortune. You've really got to try and factor in "x-the unknown"into the equation. Who is a "lucky" manager?Presumably one that hasn't had the tin tack yet,so I'd try and prise a good manager away from his present occupation. Rosler may be a good shout.

If he would leave he'd be great long term. Watched a fair bit of Brentford under him and he had them playing some pretty good stuff

Yeah I agree. Mackay never really sold it for me. Did nothing at Watford and Cardiff always had a good squad for promotion. I would go for Karl Robinson, the MK dons manager. He is very young but he has played some great stuff with MK Dons and was unlucky not to got them promoted via the play offs. I have heard good things, he plays attacking football, seems like a genuine honest man (despite being a scouser XD). Reportedly rejected some Championship clubs this summer but surely we would be too good to turn down? May be inexperienced but he is tactically aware, good at the coaching aspects of the game -things Redknapp fails to inspire too. He has done very well at Mk Dons, would be a good long-term appointment as far as I am concerned.

Next manager on 21:25 - Feb 23 with 908 views | 08olesen | I would like to see someone who has a philosophy and style of football. I feel that Harry still hasnt decided his, or his first 11 and so bringing someone like laudrup would give us a bit more identity in terms of playing style. Ale Faurlin would also fit perfectly into that passing style of possession football. Maybe even granero, still believe he is a talented fella.

What, so that someone can interview our board before deciding whether they are ambitious enough? This is just so QPR; take Warnock and De Canio out of the equation and ask, since Olly, who was our last decent manager... Its just so depressing...

Younger manager? Pressley is hardly ancient at 40. Made of the right stuff and ready for a project like QPR. We missed the boat with Rosler so forget him.

Because he's not going to quit Burnley in a hurry. If Harry stays until the end of the season and Burnley fail to go up then maybe.
