Could Cedric Make A Comeback For Saints ? Thursday, 21st May 2020 08:29 With our players out on loan about to return to the club, could some of them make a comeback when it was assumed they had played their last game for the club. Cedric Soares might be one such player. Whilst some of the loanee's who are still in contract such as Mo Elyounoussi might well feel that it is in their best interests to play, others like Wesley Hoedt and Mario Lemina will not be interested, Guido Carrillo might also fancy it but would he get to Staplewood as perhaps no one would recognise him. But one player who Saints could perhaps utilise is Cedric Soares, the Portugese International is out of contract in the summer, but will still have some of that left if Football restarts on the intended date. Certainly he would be an asset assuming he is now fit, Ralph Hasenhuttl seems to be unsure about Kyle Walker Peter's and still not convinced Yan Valery has the right attitude, Cedric as a stand in even if it is only for a few weeks could be a welcome addition. Cedric's contract will expire though on July 1st, after that he would not be eligible to play unless the Premier League allowed some sort of contract extension. But Cedric himself might feel that playing for Saints represents a big risk of injury, if he did play and that happened, then he might struggle to get a deal elsewhere for next season and find himself out of work for a period and therefore without earnings. I would not blame Cedric for that, however he might feel that playing could put him in the spotlight to help him find a new club assuming that Arsenal don't follow up their loan spell.
