Saints Striker Out For Rest Of The Season
Tuesday, 10th Feb 2015 21:20

Ronald Koeman has confirmed that his striking options will be limited after an injury picked up at the African Cup Of Nations will require surgery.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman has confirmed that a groin injury picked up by Mayuka in the recent tournament will require surgery and that it is highly likely that the player will miss the rest of the season.

Although this probably won't be a big miss to the Saints cause given the limited contribution that the Zambian has given to Saints since his arrival 2 1/2 years ago, a move that saw Billy Sharp marginalised and not given a real chance at the top level, it is yet another in a long list of injuries for Saints.

Presumably the Zambian Federation pay his wages for the duration as he was injured whilst on international duty. I think that's how it works anyway. Wonder if anyone has enough knowledge to confirm or not?
