Absolutely it was Macey's error, not disputing that, and yes he should have cleared it first time. My point was we should have been playing out from that position, not passing back to him to invite more pressure. However, it is a measure of the man that he came out immediately post-match and acknowledged his mistakes that cost us the game. |

The report on the CTFC website says 111 U’s fans in attendance, but I’m certain it was more than that. I bought my ticket on the night, and the QR code wouldn’t scan so the turnstile operator had to let me in manually. I reckon their system was only counting scanned codes. |

Better finishing (i.e. another striker or two) and we would have been out of sight at half-time. Undone by two goalkeeping blunders, albeit Macey should never have been put in that position for the first one. However, despite going out of our last cup competition, this was nowhere near as abject as the previous two defeats, so that's something at least. I didn't hear any attendance stats announced, but I reckon there must have been 150-200 of the Faithful there tonight - cracking effort for a cold Tuesday evening, and great to see you as always Noah. |

Reading extracts from his post-appointment first interview at Luton, he seems to be making some very specific points without actually saying them out loud. “The fact that they’re all Luton supporters and that they care so much about their football club shone through, and the fact that they had a real big desire for me to join our football club also shone through, so I’m incredibly proud and very, very happy to be here. “That made me feel very comfortable and very wanted, which is huge for me. "I want to work with people who care and fans who also care – and they certainly do here. "I want to work with people who want the best for their football club, and that’s more than evident with Gary, the chairman and the board of directors. “That feeling that they gave me and the feeling of being wanted, how much research they’ve done into me and the football team that we’ve produced at Colchester and Wycombe, and the knowledge base of what I stand for, who I am and what we’ve tried to produce in our football team left me in no uncertain times that this was the right move at the right time.” And this from Mr Wycombe |

Whilst nothing would be funnier than seeing Wycscum lose their golden boy and have their promotion bid derailed - that move makes no sense to me at all. |

Yep, I did say that in my original post. That was 7-8 years ago though, and clearly he’s a different player now. He looked like a good prospect, and if the rumours about Bromley prove to be true, I’m not the only one to think so. |

Again according to O’Rourke, Bromley are on the verge of signing Kabamba for a ‘six figure’ sum. Could be a good acquisition if they get him, depending on what number that fee starts with. |

Unfortunately, neither Donnelly nor McDonnell are our players to manage. The only way to keep them would be to outbid anyone else and sign them with pounds sterling (or Scottish pounds - "I think you'll find Jimmy that's legal tender"). Sadly, can't see that happening, though I'd love to be wrong. |

His loan back in 2017 didn't really work out, but how about Nicke Kabamba at Barnet - scoring plenty in the National League. Already on 12 in all competitions this season, scored 32 and 19 in the previous two seasons. Would he be tempted though, given Barnet are in the hunt for automatic promotion? |

13 appearances in all competitions for a combined total of 145 minutes, or an average per game of about 11 minutes. He’s not going to score many (any?) with those opportunities. |

I wouldn’t be so sure tbh - he was born in Croydon and been at Palace since a youth player, so it’s reasonable to assume virtually all his friends and family are London-based, and Colchester is just up the road, rather than north of the wall. Scottish Premier League sounds good, but the reality is Dundee play at a stadium only marginally bigger than ours, and with an average attendance only about 1k above ours right now. Incidentally, they lost their Boxing Day fixture 3-0 at home to Ross County, first goal scored by none other than Mr N Chilvers. |
