If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs

Would you say then that you are just making up the numbers in the championship as correct me if I’m wrong but you have been mid table most seasons.

Christ it’s changed over here only a short while back it was all relegation gloom.Very easy for some to call clubs like Brentford and Bournmouth poxy little clubs because of the size of their crowds not taking on board I doubt if you went up with the PL requirements you would have a capacity of above 16000.
Apart from the really big clubs with 50000 plus gates most will be lucky to take more than 18 million in gate money ok add the 120 +million through the TV money.Ipswich have spent over 100 mill on players so with wages north of 75 mill they ain’t making a profit Ah the parachute payments you all moan about well that doesn’t go a long way if you don’t have relegation clauses in players contracts.Since getting into the Championship I’ve had a good laugh at these so called massive clubs calling us a poxy a little club most still in the championship and some even now in Division 1 . The best thing to do is study how it’s done and replicate it and then when you get there you find it’s not the paradise you thought it would be.
I hope you get promotion the thought of QPR and Fulham in the PL might just wet my appetite as the championship is still my preferred league ,

Apart from the fact it’s an 11 point gap you are spot on with your take on it.Its all about the money.Just seen a report that Salford are losing 75k a week wtf.

This thread mirrors our forum relating to the clubs taking this competition serious.Brentford made around 8 changes from the side that had started the previous week.I think it also shows arrogance towards the other side and gives them a bit of edge to put one over on you and that’s what Plymouth did and fair play they deserved it.
The excuse that we have 2 games coming up this week City and Liverpool at home which we could very well lose is hardly going to define our season. The top and tale is we have disrespected this great competition and sadly this will continue

Rob Edwards sacked by Luton

Dislike the club but find this decision crazy as some have posted they didn’t give him much support for new players last season and accepted relegation for the price of a new stadium. The fact that they have had a serious amount of injuries this season would have thought they would have given him a bit longer to turn things round.

Promotion to the Premier League is tough. But is survival effectively impossible?
at 17:23 31 Dec 2024

Don’t get that clubs like Brentford “Lucked out” what do you mean?Think a club of your size that has a much bigger fan base and achieved far more in terms of success in my life time should say if they can do it why can’t we.There was no luck in finding lower league players and developing them and then having the balls to sell them on for big profits almost every season but still progressed.
Matthew Benham hasn’t put any money into the club since 2018 and everything has been financed by sales of players before we got to the PL and then had the influx of around 140 mill per season from tv money which dispite having one of the lowest wage bills in the PL it’s still a frightening 90 mill per season. That still puts a big dent into that income.
I would also add that Brentford voted for more money to go to the EFL one of only 3 other clubs although stand to be corrected.Yes I never forgot where we came from from I’ve watched more shit than you could dream of in the lower leagues for 50 odd years but still look back at those days with so many happy memories.

Agree with you but you say cash rich they all lose money and are trying to be allowed to lose more.

None although we have plenty out on loan who may make it.We have tended to sign players around 17/18 years of age from other clubs and progresss through our B team.Only got an academy as we have to when we go back to the championship I’m sure we will scrap it.
