| Forum Reply | Was Ken Gude in Swansea working on the buyout? at 12:32 24 Nov 2024
To be fair he didn't ruin this one as he started it :-) I tend to read more than post and really don't have a problem with resolv and the way he sees things. Each to his own and i do agree with a fair bit of what he says. One thing he doesn't do is resort to petty name calling etc (that is not saying you do Raynor ) |

Whatever the story it isn't because of indiscretions around one of teams. Just certain fans putting 2 and 2 together and getting 70001. I'm told he had to go although Coleman didn't really want him to go but had no option. I wonder if working with close allied agents had something to do with it ? |

It is frightening to think Coleman is now in charge of negotiating transfer and contracts, 8 weeks away from the transfer window opening. X was covered with people celebrating the departure of Watson when i personally thought it a bad move without a replacement already found. The snippets i have heard is that there is no rush to bring in a director of football. The clubs management board have no one with a clue about football. That's really worrying. |

The straw that broke the camels back in my opinion. There may have been other things that the yanks weren't happy with ( they do tend to fall out with everyone who doesn't see it their way ) but this rumour is just farcical. Not only will it hurt Watson but it doesn't shine said team in good light either but some people don't care about that as long as they have their 5 minutes. Thoughtless and desperate. |

But strangely enough some posters believe everything they read on X and quote it as fact rockin. Which ever way you look at it it can and does cause carnage. I actually don't get all this excitement about Watson being binned. It leaves us with the 2 soccer gurus Andy and Ken to steer the ship football wise. Does not fill me with any confidence and those below them in the recruitment department are not up to it |

A little perspective regarding the circulating rumours regarding the reason Watson was relieved of his duties. I have no doubt the rumours came from some who hate him, consumed too many pre match drinks in back street pubs and put two and two together, got five and before you know it it all ends up on social media as fact. The team in question were not directly under the stewardship of Watson so the inference that there were favours performed for employment benefits are well short of the mark. The decision on who got to be in the squad was not made by him. The other thing is that the majority of personnel in said team would not find Mr Watson attractive and that has nothing to do with the fact he is probably twice their age. Just another witch hunt that has cost someone their job and perhaps their marriage. |

I think you will find the womens team had been set up many years before Coleman was around and was definitely the most successful team in the Welsh pyramid. It was coming ' in house ' well before his time and would have turned semi pro if it had remained independent of the club . That is not to say he hasn't supported it well during his tenure |

That is rubbish sorry. The club performed a share buyback at a set price per share. The price per share was governed by what division the club was in at the time. Mel decided to cash in when the club reached the championship. The buyback meant that everybodies share percentage increased in ratio to the shares they held. The trust were part of that and got the same as everyone. As an example the trust held 200,000 shares out of 1 million = 20% before Mel sold. Once Mel sold they held 200,000 shares out of 950,000 shares ie 21%. .... and that is exactly what happened. It might also pain some but Mel did very well out of the club in the petty ousting as well doubling his money and getting the carpark |

That Portuguese coach was at the swans for years |

In which way Keith ? There wouldn't be a Swans womens team of any substance if Dineen hadn't taken it over years ago and help fund it. They wouldn't have become semi pro last season either if it hadn't been for the substantial payment made from the womens team into the club last summer. I am told it was in excess of £125,000 which shows the team/club were doing pretty well before being integrated into the main club |
| Forum Reply | New coach for Swansea City at 14:58 17 May 2024
It Looks like Dineen has got his way eventually. He got rid of the coach last Sept/Oct and wanted to bring in Jamie Sherwood as the replacement but ended up having to put the under 19s coach in charge for the remainder of the season. The 19s coach did pretty well. |

Your first para: The wage bill was £20 mill and all would have been contracted before he came in on 5th of May - nothing he could do about that nor was it his fault. So you could tenuously blame him for the rest of the costs, well actually only 25% of them which amounts to about £4.5 million but even then i doubt he could have done much between May and the end of July to mitigate them. I have zilch confidence in his ability to financially run the ship. I see nothing in his background that would make me think otherwise. Raising finance for people to build hotels is not the same as running a £20 mill business with 100's of staff *. Chuck in the fact it is a football business and he will be closer to financial Armageddon than breakeven. Let's see what his first full year brings but i don't think it will be good * the caveat to that is he has brought over a ' chief of staff ' ..... God help us ! |

I actually think it is more than £25 mill if you include Morris. Jenkins comment about ' the next level ' is coming home to roost. The sellers never had the money to keep the club going like this ( Although they prob wouldn't have wasted as much either ) |
