He has been OK so far and another one like Varane that is acclimatising but great for him to be available and in an advanced position for Frey's pass and composure to slot home with two defenders closing in.

Brought in as a goal scoring midfielder and nice to see so many different goalscorers so far this season.

Our Transfers So Far - From Far and Wide
at 03:33 27 Aug 2024

Transfers In

Westerlo
Lugano
Sporting Gijon
Perth Glory
Estrela
Brest
Gent
Lommel
Bayern Munich

Transfers Out

Bristol City
Walsall
Portsmouth
Cambridge
Everton
Portsmouth
Maidenhead
Southend
Harrogate
Leyton Orient
Cheltenham
Newport
Dagenham
Cardiff
Dundee

I have looked at most other championship clubs and their players have come from Southend, Blackburn, Sheffield United, Milton Keynes Don's, QPR, Reading etc.

And quite ironic at where our players have been shifted out to.

Anyhow you get the picture of what I am saying.

Appreciate a lot of what our recruitment is based on data analysis etc and we certainly have thrown our net out as far and wide as can be.

Some maybe Cifuentes recommendations, some Belks, guessing Nourry also, and it seems we have been at the very least very inventive, but so many players that really have zero experience of our leagues and also all young players and whether data can incorporate whether they settle in a foreign land such as ours also.

Would have imagined half our signings would have perhaps been premiership loans or signings from other EFL clubs, but for all of our signings to have exactly the same model ie young and basically from anywhere in the world, it seems quite risky.

And the fact all our outgoings have been sideways within the championship or to lower EFL or National League clubs or Scotland. Appreciate we would wish a few could be to higher ranked clubs but also we clearly not had any players that clubs from abroad have had any interest in either.

My own personal view would have to have had at least two or three from the English leagues. Ie no guarantees they will settle or perform in our leagues and enjoy living in London.

I can't see any other championship club that has done this.

I am hopeful but it seems an untried strategy.

I guess watch this space.

The league QPR will be in 2028 as predicted by AI
at 16:14 25 Aug 2024

Apparently Artificial Intelligence has offered myself some fascinating and incredible array of ideas around where the mighty Rangers will be plying their trade in four years time.

Fascinating - Such insight provided by Artificial Intelligence !!!

We need be very wary of AI's power, insight and logic !!

Anyhow here is what they said....

Predicting the exact league Queens Park Rangers will be playing in by 2028 is challenging, as football can be quite unpredictable. However, based on their current performance and historical trends, we can make some educated guesses.

As of now, QPR is competing in the Championship, which is the second tier of English football1. The club has experienced both promotions to the Premier League and relegations to lower divisions in the past. Their ambition will undoubtedly be to climb back to the Premier League, and they have been working towards building a team capable of achieving that goal.

If QPR maintains a stable management structure, continues to invest in player development, and strengthens their squad, they could potentially be competing in the Premier League by 2028. On the other hand, if they face financial difficulties or other challenges, they might remain in the Championship or, less likely, drop to League One.

Ultimately, the future league status of QPR will depend on a variety of factors, including the club’s management decisions, player performances, and financial health over the coming years. Fans will hope for a positive trajectory that sees the club competing at the highest level possible. 🏟️⚽

Anyone ever got season ticket and then wanted change - moaners behind you ??
at 09:16 25 Aug 2024

After sitting at back of SAR near Loft End for last six seasons, decided this season for a change of view.

Obviously six years in same seat, got to know a lot of the people around me and was good banter and decent chats etc.

So moved nearer the front SAR and close to halfway.

Decent view but christ all flipping mighty, four blokes behind me, constantly whinging.

Our start was electric, but one mistake, can't remember who it was, but just couple of minutes after the first goal, whinge, whinge, whinge, moan, moan moan.

Blokes though also that you would not want to get the wrong side of.

Said to my friend, I seriously close to telling them to shut the f up. I wouldn't because we are there for the season.

Anyone had this experience before. And did you stick it out or change sharpish.

It certainly changes my enjoyment of attending. Always that risk if you change though.

Centre Mid - do we need Hayden
at 21:21 18 Aug 2024

Appreciate we have Field Colback Varane Dixon Bonner

Think people are asking this after Varanes first two games, EDB never quite hits the level as yet, and Colback and Field are walking yellow cards or worse.

Harsh to judge already !!!

If we could to bed in Varane as he develops this season.

I would offer Hayden a one year contract with option for a second that only we can trigger and delay his full wages, if an issue.

Appreciate he does not fit the profile currently but we have Cook as a role model for how this works within the defence.

It's a tough one but it is a key position as shown by the effect Colback had when he came on and filled in the Hayden role.

Haircuts artificially intelligent players
at 18:56 18 Aug 2024

Dykes and Dunne both scored on Saturday

You could tell Jummy wants his Dunninho nickname with bleached blonde highlights.

Lyndon has his hair all of a flop in a bid to retract to his Aussie surfer roots.

The result - one goal each.

With our no holds barred data analysis keeping track of every last detail, not a surprise at the result.

We even managed to sign Dembele and Varane.

However if the late great Bamber Gascoigne appeared on the team sheet with his wonderful curly buffon style, then perhaps the computer says no and we go back to the old ways of setting up a football team !!!

Anyone ever rung in to a post match radio phone in ??
at 10:37 16 Aug 2024

Had a sad habit of enjoying post match dismally down radio discussions around performances especially of the England team.

For some strange reason always found them darkly entertaining.

Appreciate we are not often on the radar of such shows now and of course we now can spread our doom ridden analyses on here, but has anyone rung in ever for club or country in a state of exasperated desperation!!! Were you that Numpty ??

Have enjoyed Chelsea and Man Utd fan meltdowns on numerous occasions. Poor pups !!!

Our starting centre forward this season
at 07:21 14 Aug 2024

Currently I think it's Michi Frey..

I can't make any comments re Celar as its very early days.

Lyndon came on last night and I did not notice him.

Pleased Frey scored and he always runs and chases.

Are we likely to buy a number nine if Eze gets sold..

Centre Forwards and their effectiveness seem to be a dying breed today.

Let's all hang the positive vibes out there and the man will miraculously appear without us trying.

Cambridge- the carabao cup adventure starts here - match thread
at 22:42 12 Aug 2024

I think only ever started one match day thread

But have taken responsibility this season for our new found cup successes.

The cup run starts here.

Taylor Richards scores a 90th minute winner - an own goal - to set us on our merry way and few games later Richards gets cult hero status in being the beginning of the magic run towards Carabao Cup Final success !!!

12.30pm Saturday kick off.
at 09:17 11 Aug 2024

Madness

Affected the atmosphere

For a regular home fan - only a few away each season - too early to travel in - like half the attendance half asleep still.

The atmosphere less lively.

Although the players professional- must affect their performances also.

If 70% of weekend fixtures are played at this time now, fans will vote with their feet.

As I understand it, SKY have this deal for two years currently - could be wrong !!

Will supporters be able to change this, if it is universally disliked ??

I personally hope so !!

What do others think about this, what will happen as a result ??

Let's talk about Reggie
at 23:16 3 Aug 2024

Mr Cannon - where are you ???

When we signed Reggie Cannon, we were all surprised.

25 caps for the not insignificant footballing nation of the United States and in his peak years as well, it seemed quite a signing considering it was done without knowledge before and hopes were obviously positive.

The reincarnation of Jimmy Dunne at right back has been fantastic but a player deemed good enough for many appearances for such a nation as THE U S of A.

Now Santos has been signed a right back also.

Thought Cannon would be used regularly but he is not even listed as injured.

We are told Fox, Dykes and Chair injured so anyone ITK about Reggie !!!

Announcement at Brighton Friendly
at 09:25 2 Aug 2024

Know we have the transfer thread but just highlighting this on its own.

Am thinking Varane will be announced on Saturday and possibly the Juventus defender, although that may depend on Paal being sold.

QPR have done this a few times in the past.

Anyone agree ??

The Pukka Pies have it
at 18:34 31 Jul 2024

Am delighted to announce on behalf of our match day sponsors, QPR are extremely enthused and look forward to drooling every half time interval.

Anyhow basically what AI statement on the QPR website says...

https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/2024/july/31/pukka-pies-qpr/

This is the dogs b*ll*cks of announcements.

Surely Naomi Campbell and her mates will be flocking back to the bhatia stand after this super exciting news.

The club truly is going in the right direction.

Who needs pasta shells and lentils anyhow !!!!! 😆

Anyone brave enough to come out of the closet and announce that they indeed partake in the odd pukka pie or two mid match or pre match !!!

It's probably best out in the open !!!!!!!

T20 Cricket
at 22:40 18 Jul 2024

Been watching Surrey since around 1980 and what a change the game has made.

T20 more like baseball and with the razzmatazz.

Lots of people fallen out of the office, lots of families all going and less old boys falling asleep doing the times crossword.

Went to Surrey Hampshire at the Oval tonight.

Sam Curran hit winning six almost out the ground with such power and reached his century with the last shot of the game.

Will Jack's hit first ball of the Surrey innings for six and then caught on the boundary attempting to clear the boundary with the second ball of the innings.

Brixton DJ in the outer grounds.

Boycott, Tavare, Edrich it is not

In a game where one to eleven can clear the ropes, it's not the cricket of yesteryear.

But was great entertainment.

But a different sport from previous decades most definitely

BIden v Trump - and we thought our options were poor !!
at 10:41 29 Jun 2024

Has anyone seen the "Car Crash" performance of Joe Biden in his live TV debate v Trump.

Many times, he lost his train of thought. Often, he was.out of breath and many times he wasn't focusing.

This man is the so called leader of the developed world.

And he is going to get trounced, big time by Donald Trump, who could be beaten quite easily by a mediocre politician.

I really can't see how Americans can feel about their leaders in anyway that is positive whatsoever.

But this debate was shocking.

If Slovenia can nullify our threat so easily, could the might of Loftus Road do a job on this group of players and manager.
