Morning,
I get why you all are pretty down over the new appointment but maybe have a think to yourselves.
Would you have gone down anyway? Something was not right.
Could NJ actually be good for the club? only time will tell.
Gary O'Neil No managerial experience but got Bournemouth playing again.
Eddie Howe, went to Newcastle, all the pundits said it was the wrong appointment and look where they are now.
Sometimes the Manager and club just fit and this could be your Messiah but only time will tell.
Good luck for the rest of the season, the World Cup may have come at the right time for you and give him time to work on the team. |

Lets not kid ourselves , both clubs will have idiots turn up to cause havoc, they may not have tickets but it will happen.
As for the football, i am a STH, the football is dire, trust me if you think you have issues then they will vanish tonight, If Evans plays then he will be telling the other players how much this means to the Portsmouth fans and if they dont play for the shirt they never will.
It will be how your players react to the crowd, you know as well as i do that in the past some of your players have hidden and if that happens tonight then we will have a chance, if they play football you will win. |

Soton, I rarely go to so I have no affinity with it at all be it like or dislike
Supporters, same as us really, good and bad, some can take the banter some get really quite obsessed, what I cant be done with is the comparisons, the clubs have rarely been in the same league, rarely been drawn against each other in the cups so the only comparison is both clubs slipped down the leagues due to owners being sh1te.
SFC , ok I come on this forum but apart from that you do not have any effect on my life whatsoever unless you are struggling and of course it brings a smile to my face.
Strip out the colours and we are pretty much the same to a man apart from the politically driven saddos that would prefer politics to football. |

Plus I have that awful daily thing called work.

Firstly apart from saying trump was in power by a democratic vote where have I lied and mentioned politics.
I do not get involved in political discussions (A because everyone thinks their view is right ( you are a point in question and (b because i do not trust 1 politician in this world, they all lie, they all mislead and they are all in it for their own selfish gain.
I have never come on this board to slate anyone or SFC and enjoy a debate about the two cities.
Chesham "hates" us (in his words) which is fair enough but he has mates that are Portsmouth fans so its more the city and club and a handful or supporters he detests.
I can deal with that but when I come on here to say thanks for the nice comments and you use it for a point scoring retort then it shows who you are.
Or have i got your post all wrong? |

Morning,
A nice way to start this morning with a thoughtful post.
Portsmouth was pivotal on the 6th of the 6th but it was not just people from Portsmouth that left our shores, men from all over the country left and so many did not come back.
As a Portsmouth man born and bred I am proud of our heritage and the part the City played in the liberation of Europe and we will give our visitors a warm welcome.
I hate to say it though there will be protesters from across the country making their way to the Memorial to have their say and to hell with the celebrations, these selfish self centred Trump hating idiots have no respect for the fallen and will climb on statues to wave a " we hate Trump" flag without the slightest regard for the people that gave them their freedom in the first place.
Hate him or love him he was democratically voted in to lead the largest economy in the world.
Anyway rant over and thanks for the kind comments. |

Morning Gents,
a couple of points here.
Tornate will not over spend the money irrespective of what some supporters with short memories have. The first thing that needs sorting is the stadium which will increase capacity, there is no point building a brand new flat pack that hold 36,000 because week in week out we will not fill it even though we took 120,000 to Wembley this year.
The players are not good enough to be in the Championship for a prolonged time but then again neither is the manager until he has a plan a let alone a plan B C D.
Matt Clarke? although he looks 50 he is only 23 yes he is that good and if he left i would not begrudge him trying to better himself, he has not asked for a transfer but i would be very surprised if a Championship club did not come in for him and i would think for about 1.5 million.
Football is over for the summer and St Mary's will have the pleasure of my company for the England game. |

We may as well give up now then and stay in that league, Under paul Cook I remember and FA Cup goal against Bournemouth, 42 passes resulting in a goal- now? 3 passes resulting in a throw in for the opposition.
I would however take winning in the play-offs for no other reason apart from the melt down that would follow and the 2000 reply thread started by one of us because we have won another made up trophy. |

You can't defend any of the previous examples, assault is assault drunken or not, we had an absolute moron throw a flair from a concourse at Sunderland, could have caused 3rd degree burns because the knob missed the pitch.
Nick if that happened to you or your Son,Daughter,Dad etc would you laugh it off?
Lets just hope that the MSM especially the Sun (because those Scousers love that one) run articles on it.

We finished where we deserved, we have improved on last year an still have a chance of going up although I do think we will come straight back down.
We are not consistent enough and have bullied our way to a lot of results by playing hoof it up to the big bloke who is actually as agile as Razor Ruddock in his current state. |

Hate to say it but usually the year after any club drops the supporters decrease hence a lower attendance.
The year during a promotion run the supporters increase hence the difference.
I like debates and this one was not about attendances alone but who will finish South Coast top dogs so unless we are counting Cup wins in a minnows cup that you admitted you did not go to then we are not even in the first round. |
