Lapwings, lovely looking birds. Used to frequently see them on the grass beside the runways at Northolt Airport when we were driving past on the A40 but they haven’t been there for a long time now.

Notice that Alfie Doughty hasn’t been in their side recently. If he is out injured at the moment it would be handy for us as I thought he was their best player in the Cup game when we won on penalties.

Putting Eze at left back was enough to make me wonder whether Southgate had ever actually watched him play. I think he coped pretty well in the circumstances.

It’s funny how when Delap played against us for clubs like Stoke and Preston while he was on loan from City he didn’t look anything special at all but playing against Premier League clubs for Ipswich has taken his game to another level.

Agree with you, I thought it was brilliantly scripted and acted.
The scenes in the last episode where Cromwell runs rings around his accusers in the kangaroo court while knowing all the time that no matter how right he may be he’s doomed anyway, were absolutely riveting.
