It was more of the same last night. we looked good in parts (without really threatening their keeper) for about an hour. Then, they started to put us under a bit of pressure by running at us, and in the end we were probably glad of a point. The best chances all fell to Halifax, and Waller saved us yet again. The penalty was the correct decision, but was a very tame effort indeed. We do seem incapable of shooting on target. Is this that the players aren't good enough, or is it instructions from the Management team? Either way; it's completely unacceptable and is driving supporters away. Our best cross came from Rodney, and our most effective striker was Henderson. Jim should be held to account for not utilising him more. Unless he is completely knackered, he deserves at least 20 minutes on the pitch. On paper, a point away at a team above us seems ok; but in reality, it wasn't good enough. A bit like Southend at the weekend... had we gone there to win the game and attacked purposefully, we would probably have won. Play offs? Looking more unlikely with the passing of every game, but a change in the mindset of the team could still see us get there. |

Absolutely nail on head TS. It does seem like a throwback to BBM days where the number of passes was valued more highly than the number of points. Passing around on our own pitch (plus several others) is foolish in the extreme. I'm so glad that you mentioned the home game with Halifax, as I too thought they were by far the better team and really should have won. Big few weeks for the team now. Can we mount a realistic play off push? I'm hopeful, but not confident. It will all come down to how the team is set up and told to play. |

Didn't see the game today so relying on my mates report driving back. He says that we were the better team by some distance for about 70 minutes...until they made a triple substitution, and Jim looked puzzled. They then pressed our midfield and defence, and we sat back looking increasingly nervous and making comedy errors. Our subs were (once again) like for like and too late. The 90th minute introduction of Henderson (when we had missed several chances that he would eat for breakfast) is disrespectful to our leading goalscorer. He went on to say that Southend were not far off being hopeless, yet could easily have won it towards the end due to our nervousness. |

Can't disagree with any of that, but would add that for me, the biggest factor will be the way Jim gets us to play. More of what we have seen recently, and we will slip away to a disappointing mid table position somewhere near where we finished last season, whilst a more attacking outlook could see us in or around the play offs. Our inability to shoot in all but a few games is already costing us which is disappointing as I feel we are not getting the best from our players. |

I've now watched the game in full on DAZN, courtesy of buying a pass on Tuesday, and I can honestly say it was garbage. As bad as it has been in years. And I have witnessed the real lows down the years... Droylsden, Bangor, Northwich Victoria; Plymouth 6-0 at home and Orient 8-0 away. The only way we will progress is if McNulty goes. He is next to clueless when it comes to setting us up offensively. Crowds need to be entertained. He can't deliver. How this happens is anyone's guess because it seems like our also clueless Board of Directors are oblivious to events on the pitch. C'mon guys... it's an entertainment business . There is not a cat in hell's chance that we will grow our crowds whilst we persist with this rubbish on the pitch. In fact, it will alienate hundreds more supporters. So; likeable guy that he is; Rochdale fan that he says he is; Jim needs to step down for the good of the club. He is costing us money for every performance that we put in according to the BBM sideways and backwards passing manual that we have reverted to. Project 5000? Your having a laugh. We have some half decent players who are scared to express themselves. Give them some freedom Jim, and close the door behind you. |

Full time report from my mate who went is that we were shockingly bad but its down to the way our team is set up and the unacceptable way we play. Apparently, they had the best 2 chances of the game and really should have scored one of them. Hes gone for a pint now.. but has now joined the growing number who wants a change of management and also co chair...Sadly I think both of them have run out of ideas. |

Sounds grim on Daleplayer. My mate in the ground texted me to say how slowly we try to play against a team lacking in pace throughout. Quite a few murmuring that Jim needs to go. |
 | Forum Reply | Oldham game at 10:35 5 Feb 2025
On reflection, I thought Oldham were superior all over the pitch, and had been motivated by their Manager beforehand. Sadly, our team performed like 11 wet lettuces and Jim's post match interview was as wet lettuce as it gets. Get a bit of fire in yer belly Jim ffs. We all know we can do so much better than that. Apologise to the supporters and tell us they will do much better. On to Saturday now, and fully expecting a resounding win and a reaction from everyone on and off the pitch. |

We haven't laid a glove on them to be fair. Waters and Caprice have been the best players on show, whilst Hogan, Gilmour , Rodney and Mitchell have been very substandard. Waller my mom for Dale speaks volumes. |

I take it you mean we have been second best James? |
 | Forum Reply | Oldham game at 20:42 4 Feb 2025
Missed first 5 minutes due to DAZN. From what I've seen, we are second best all over the pitch and slightly fortunate not to be two down. Linesman on main stand side is hopeless and missed a really obvious offside which could have led to a goal More urgency needed all over the pitch in the second half. Agree that the problem area of the pitch looks quite dangerous and desperately needs work. |

Its currently hammering down in Rochdale. Dunno what its like in Oldham Mak. |
 | Forum Reply | Boston Match Thread at 19:32 28 Jan 2025
No. The problem area is near the Police Box at the opposite end. I'd imagine their photographer was confused by the sheer incompetence of the Dale Board of Directors who have known about this "non bouncing" area of the pitch for weeks yet have done very little to address the problem. If the ball won't roll then heads must. At the very top. |

Much better. Thoroughly dominated for large portions of the match and the scoreline did not flatter us. I said at half time that we were only a goal away from a big win, and the team did us proud in the second half. Noticeable how we didn't pass pass pass for the sake of it today. we never allowed Yeovil a second on the ball and they couldn't live with our pressing game. Well done to players and Management today. |

Watching on National League tv. Centre circle repairs look ok, but the corner area between Main Stand and Willbutts is like a pudding. Not many there...can't see it being more than a couple of hundred. |

As a comparison, Boston United's new ground which would probably be too small for us is thought to have cost £12m, whilst York City's stadium cost an eye watering £42m, I thought the Council approved plans for 200 houses on the Drake St site not long ago? |
 | Forum Reply | Pitch update at 09:49 13 Jan 2025
Difficult one to answer, and would depend on who the other club was. Personally, if it were Oldham or bury, I would rather we never considered it. I think this would be a hugely divisive issue with both parties; don't you? |

Agree with relocating to a new multi-purpose site (are there any suitable ones at Kingsway?) but I'm not open to an amalgamation with a nearby club. Fully agree that changes are needed throughout the Board and staff at the club. Unfortunately, all this will come at considerable cost. |

Listened on Tees Radio last night,. It sounded like a close game with Dale on top without really threatening to score. I always feared it going to penalties and it looked a cert that we would go out at 3-1 down. An amazing turnaround with them missing three on the trot. Well done Dale, but congratulations to Stockton who put us a great fight. |
 | Forum Reply | No coach to Stockton at 12:53 8 Jan 2025
I'll answer on behalf of everyone who hasn't got access to the pitch. We don't know. The last update was before the last postponed game, and it showed the pitch uncovered. The one before showed two very small rain covers which between them probably only protected 10-15% of the playing area. That's all we've had. Surely ; given the awful weather we have had, someone at the club could take half an hour to update supporters? |
