| Forum Reply | Scott Hogan one year loan at Dale at 17:00 8 May 2016
Hello me again.. this thread seemed to have slipped past me. Weirdly enough when reading the Huddersfield forum - there was a poster saying that Hogan was signing for them!! As i said in the other thread , i would imagine he will be sold within the next two seasons. We are a small club with not much money in relative terms and trying to stay within FFP, so if a newly relegated team needs a goal scorer. We will probably let him go for £10 million plus any extra parachute payment money they want to throw our way (same as Gray , Bristol city offered 10 before being gazumped by Burnley). Hogan will be a 1st team starter for us next season, he's giving 100% for every minute he's on the pitch , which has forced our manager to manage him strictly this season bare in mind he's been out for nearly 2 years. Hence taking him off against Fulham when he had 2 goals to his name with the possibility of 3 goals or more a certainty. Same at Huddersfield 2 goals and subbed off. |

Not sure if i mentioned this in the past , but Hogan was signed as our (Brentford's) number 1 striker with Andre Gray as the backup.... unfortunately due to the serious injury Gray was pushed forward to a starting role and the rest is history. What little I've seen of Hogan he's already better than Gray, I'd imagine we'd keep him for another season or two before selling him on. Luton got a tidy sell on fee for Gray , I'd imagine you guys would have similar in place for Hogan. |

Mark Warburton was aware of what was going to happen weeks ago. If all things had gone to plan, an announcement would have been made at the end of the season! Unfortunately there was a leak to the Times who ran a story , everything seems to point to the leak being (allegedly) our sporting director Frank McParland (he is now on immediate gardening leave). Which accounts for the dreadful timing of this news. I went to Charlton on the weekend to see us play against a team who had not won since NOVEMBER , we got smashed 3-0 the players looked like they had taken the rumours/news badly. As for this weekends game , there will be a lot of support for Warburton, with fans singing his name (myself included) but we'll also be singing the owner's name too as i'd like to think we can see/understand the bigger picture. I still think we can make the play-offs now we have clarity, but i wont lose any sleep if we don't this season. I'm just happy to be here!! |

I'm treating this announcement a bit like when Southampton announced they were getting rid of Nigel Adkins. People outside the club were shocked and some wanted them to fail, but i think it's fair to say the Saints are doing ok now... Benham does have the club's best interests at heart , he's stood on the terrace as a fan and knows the rubbish/pain we've gone through. Upto now he has put in £90 million to improve the club (new stadium on it's way plus total overhaul of our academy). I personally think he is going down the "moneyball" route for Brentford with mentions of a new recruitment structure using a mixture of traditional scouting and other tools including mathematical modelling! He's earn t the right to give it a go, as he sees fit (lets hope for my sake he knows what he's doing!! ) |

I would expect the majority of our fans to back our owner's decision. Don't get me wrong I'm gutted Warburton is going at the end of the season but.... the owner has a vision that he wants to stick to (and offered Warburton a chance to stay), which will hopefully lead to greater things in the long run. as for this season i think we can write it off (we're safe at least!) and look forward to the future. A lot of people don't realise that without Matthew Benham we wouldn't actually have a club. |

I guess he didn't fancy sitting on our bench for the remainder of the season? (hence the need for 1st team football) Although we told Oldham Athletic we would loan James Tarkowski back to them when we signed him last Jan window. After a couple of weeks (and squad injuries) he ended up establishing himself as a 1st team regular and didn't go back to Oldham. |

Hello All, Just a Brentford fan passing through. What's he like? I've listened to his interview and he said that he'll be going out on loan back to you (or another league 1 club) till the end of the season - he needs 1st team football. He says he hopes to challenge for a Brentford place in pre-season. |
