I don't suppose anyone has a spare adult ticket for the Sandy today? Haven't been able to get up and won't be able to purchase one before 11:30. Will obviously pay face value for it. Cheers guys! |
| Forum Thread | Dunphy at 19:20 19 Oct 2013
I was pretty vocal in my criticism of Dunphy with regards to the Eyre situation and so I feel it's only good and proper to praise him when he's done something very very right. From having the nous to appoint Hill the first time round, to sacking Coleman and bringing him back to the club for his second spell. Add that to the length of contract that he offered Hill and the budget he made available, (which Hill said he was very satisfied with) I'd like to go on record and say a massive thanks to our chairman. It's great to be a Rochdale fan again and I honestly have a really good feeling about this year (hope I'm not wrong!) Obviously we have a fantastic squad now and in my opinion, the best manager in the division but without a good deal of foresight from the Dunphy, a lot of what we're seeing on and off the pitch now may not have happened. So once again, from one proper Dale fan to another, thankyou Chris for all your hard work. |

If any of you are in need of a laugh then just like this page on Facebook and read some of the comments. There's a few regular posters that are particularly entertaining, see if you can spot them! Clueless isn't the word. |

Why was the thread deleted? I was in the middle of apologising for my mindless post/editing it and then when I go add the reply, I find that it's gone? Anyway, any offence caused was obviously unintentional but I can assure you that I'm not a 'prick'...I'd very much like olympicdale to reply to my PM though. Many thanks. |
| Forum Thread | Post Match Comments at 14:40 15 Jan 2013
I felt it necessary to start a new thread about this owing to the fact that a lot of people indicated that Eyre's naivety in his post-match comments was the straw that broke the camel's back. Whilst Eyre's comments indicated inexperience and idiocy, Coleman's simply echo his stubborn nature and apparent need to blame everyone else but himself. It's laughable that he blames the players for pretty much every defeat when it's his tactics and failure to change the game at key moments which often leads to our downfall (amongst other things). It's these comments that are pissing me off the most at the moment and with the all the other problems we have, that should indicate how much they're getting to me! /Rant |
| Forum Thread | Lift to Burton? at 14:04 24 Dec 2012
Just missed out on tickets for the coach today due to circumstances beyond my control. If anyone's going to Burton and has space for me and my mate then it'd be greatly appreciated - we are willing to pay our share of the petrol of course. Disclaimer: The friend isn't Tazzy Disclaimer 2: The friend isn't Sweetcorn Hoping that making this clear boosts my chances! Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all |

Pride. Its been missing for a while but I felt like running on the pitch and doing a kneeslide when our 4th went in. Its great to see a group of players fight so hard for the cause and I really did feel proud tonight for the first time in a long time. P.S Jimmy Bell for SPOTY and Best Dressed in 2013...what a guy |

Realistically, who could we get/do you want for us to go for if we were to make one more 'big' signing? I'll start... Forte lulz |

In terms of effort and caring, one of my favourite ever Dale players. The amount of effort he puts in every game is fantastic and he's an absolutely credit to himself. On his day he's a very dangerous customer and is one of the best at winning headers that he has no right to get to. If we don't re-sign him it's an absolute travesty. |

There are many reasons why we are where we are now - it's not just down to one player/game/tactic/manager. With everybody around us tonight doing a job, League 2 football looks a very realistic possiblity next season (not that it didn't before tonight). Now isn't the time to point fingers, it's the time to start afresh and consider this the beginning of the end of our season. Whatever happens from now, let's just put all our energy in supporting the team. If we do go down, we go down and have the right man at the helm to give us a good chance of success next season. Whilst I'm as gutted as anyone to see us rock bottom and in massive danger, we have to put the past behind us now. Let's wipe the slate clean and hope the players show us what they're going to offer the squad next season. We have some very important fixtures coming up, get behind the players and let's hope we can give it one last good go starting with the game at home to Oldham (Huddersfield looks very ominous at present). I really hope we at least make a fist of it, I'd hate nothing more than to go down with a whimper. Believe |

I think we can all agree that Coleman's done wonders for our defence; he's made us a hard team to beat and we definitely have a very solid defensive line when Amankwaah and Long partner each other. Personally I feel we were too negative tonight... the 4-5-1 ish system is perfect away from home (especially for the tougher away games as we've seen recently). We're hard to break down and we create a few chances here and there in order to nick a goal. Tonight was a very winnable game and to be fair we got done by a sucker punch just before half-time. It seemed to knock the stuffing out of us and it undoubtedly changed the team-talk JC had in mind. Whilst we largely dominated the first half, I don't think we looked particularly threatening at any moment and playing Symes as a lone striker was a mistake for me. I think Akpro plays that role fairly well due to the fact that he has excellent aerial ability and a good amount of pace about him. With regards to tonight, Symes didn't have either of that....am I the only one who thought 4-5-1 with Grimes playing off Symes was a mistake tonight? In a game where Coleman stated the importance of 3 points I really thought we'd have gone for it a bit more. If you agree, what sort of formation/team do you think we should have played? Should we perhaps be more attacking at the home in the future etc? |
