I was in shock. Still am. Awful doesn’t begin to describe it. I’ll never forget last night at least. Memorable for all the wrong reasons. |

In politics “after the election” means after they have got their feet under the table and had lengthy holidays. Hence my comment that they were hoping to have a conversation much later this year. IF the council are broadly in agreement, there are still a bunch of other interested parties to be placated, but having the council support means that the biggest stakeholder is onside and that will help the discussions with the other parties. If we get the green light from the council to move forward then it is still expected that it would be at least 4 years before we saw a new stadium and quite possibly closer to 8 years! |

6 weeks ago the club were showing draft plans for LCC that they had drawn up. They were due to be discussing with the local council later this year. There had already been preliminary discussion with stakeholders, some of whom are keen, some less so, but a lot was dependant on the conversations that they were hoping to have much later this year with LBHF. One other point to note is that the question around capacity was less based on our current attendance or any promotion, but the attraction for venue hire which ,like it or not, is how stadiums make money along with functions/events etc. Gate receipts are not overly relevant, especially in the PL where the money from everything else makes gate receipts a drop in the ocean. A 30,000 stadium in W12 that can be used for indoor and outdoor events has great potential for generating revenue. When you consider that a stadium is used 23 times or so in 365 days it's a significantly under utilised asset. Unless anything has changed in 6 weeks, i would read TF comments as an unintelligent hint to the council. Either way, LCC is considered the last chance to stay local. |
| Forum Thread | Open training session at 23:08 30 Jul 2018
Can’t see a thread but worth pointing out that at the end of today’s open training session the players showed incredible patience and friendliness to all the kids thrusting all sorts of stuff at them to sign. Each and every one of them showed a willingness to engage and none of them made it look like a chore. Great stuff from QPR to put this on. Bet you don’t get this at Arsenal, Spurs etc. The only player missing so far as I could tell was our new BFG. Finally, all the players were great as mentioned but Lynch seemed like such a nice bloke and spent ages chatting to people. A couple of hours well spent. |

Once i picked up myself off the floor having laughed so hard at your clever and witty "name", because i'm not so bright and struggle with big words I looked up in the Oxford Dictionary the meaning of "colloquilism". It states: "A word or phrase that is not formal or literary and is used in ordinary or familiar conversation". Now I've never heard the phrase "oy vey" in "ordinary or familiar conversation" and I doubt you have either unless you hang out with Jackie Mason. So basically my point holds and I'll just call it a day now knowing that perhaps you're not so smart after all, you just like to use words you don't understand and hope it makes you look cleverer than you obviously are. |

"chicken soup"? What does that mean? |

Why "oy vey"? Not stereotyping are we? And what does "that lot" mean? |

Too many maybe’s for me. If Real had not been gifted an opener then Liverpool may not have equalised. So it could have been nil nil before Bale’s 1st. All I’m saying is that Liverpool may not have scored that goal if Real hadn’t already scored the first. It’s not the first mistake that cost them the game. And the 2nd may not have cost the game because Liverpool were by no means certain to score in the last 10. |
| Forum Reply | CL Final at 12:23 27 May 2018
The first error was cancelled out by the equaliser. The 2nd he could do nothing about. The third one there were only 10 mins or so left so even if he hadnt made the error there’s a pretty good chance Liverpool wouldnt have equalised. Whilst there is no excuse for the errors the reality is if he hadnt made the last one I don’t think people would be saying he lost them the cup. People are talking as if they were level when he let in that 3rd but the chances are it was irrelevant. Always the victim and all that. |

I remember him saying that if they didn’t get promoted they would seek legal redress. So no sympathy for them and Fer. But Hughes makes me sick. Commentator kept going on about how brave he was for bringing on a striker. Going to be gutted if they survive. Off to buy a Huddersfield shirt. |
| Forum Reply | Jack Butland - pulling no punches! at 13:08 7 May 2018
I agree. There were some excellent performances but it was a fluke, as proved by how we started off the following season. The fans were also a big part of those performances, it’s a shame we don’t have atmosphere like that every game. But going back to the main point, at no time did it appear Hughes had any kind of tactical plan, even after the oft-mentioned first 10 games |
| Forum Reply | Jack Butland - pulling no punches! at 11:38 7 May 2018
I’m desperate for Soton to go down so that Hughes will always be known as the manager who was responsible for 2 relegations. Even his mates in the media cannot positively spin that one. He’s only fit to manage somewhere like the SPL where you don’t need to be particularly good to succeed. [Post edited 7 May 2018 11:39]

All the criticism is a bit unfair. If he’d been retained at a stoke they would have stayed up. And if he’d spent the whole season at southampton they’d be in the Europa Cup thingy. Poor guy. |
| Forum Reply | Ollie & foreign players - worrying pattern at 17:02 31 Jan 2018
There was a podcast before Holloway took over and Bircham was on it (from a fan perspective). If I recall, he spoke about foreign players as being a problem (language, culture etc). The conversation was probably in light of the Boswinga's and Fer's of this world, but then when they took over a short time later i think some of the foreign players on our books may have found themselves at an instant disadvantage. Hopefully not true because it kind of restricts our market place somewhat! |

I wish every club in the football league made a pact not to sign any players on loan from Scum which would leave them with a playing staff of 100, presumably breaching all sorts of regulations and make everyone sit up and actually realise what a disgrace they are signing players who will never ever play for them. For example, Millwalls keeper last week is a Scum player who will never play for them. It's an absolute scandal the way average players are hoarded by Premiership clubs. |

I get that argument but I don't think the BBC is a public service nowadays that I should be forced to fund. It's not like the debate over whether i want to pay for health or overseas aid since the BBC is a direct tax on me personally. Of course it would be interesting if the DofE, MoD etc all had to bill us directly, but they don't. If the BBC is a true public service then it should be for via Government funding and not via my DD |

Honestly No. Use the BBC website, but if I couldn't access it I'd be fine with that. |

Sky's optional. BBC isn't. Why should I be compelled for something that I would happily never watch? |
