| News Comment | Bella-Kotchap Speaks About Southampton Future at 11:58:07
Bankers spot on I remember a go stop transfer near the end of the window I was actually glad he didn't go because I think he is a good player and certainly a better cb than J S Reads the game and is quick to intercept The one thing I am hoping for from Ivan is that JS is cast into the wilderness |
| News Comment | Who Had Heard Of Pochettino ! As Saints Fans Question New Manager's Credentials at 14:05:21
MoPo was going to Saints training at Staplewood for a couple of months supposedly as an observer before he was appointed He then stabbed St Nigle in the back At the end of his full season here he said he was not going to another club but was going to have a break That was until he was told he had to pay up his contract Horrible person but he coached in what was a modern way at the time But he never had a plan B I will give this give guy some time but more in hope than anticipation Just hope he isn't a Croation Nathan and that he can connect with the fans |
| News Comment | Southampton V Liverpool The Carabao Cup Verdict at 11:11:08
This really was a game of two halves In the first the players looked dejected and lost Tyler looked like he didn't want to be anywhere near the pitch The ironic cheers for a couple of long clearances where soon silenced when the ball came straight back at the defence Our possession stat was less than 25% and we were rubbish at best Had they had the likes of salah etc playing it would have been worse than the Spurs game In the second half we appeared to have a different mentality and we tried to play the possession game It was helped when they brought on a couple more youngsters that allowed us to dominate the play We generally looked like a team playing without a plan and without a leader With the side they put out I wonder if RM and his staff had still been here would be have won ? Who knows |
| News Comment | Yorkshire Media Claim That Sheffield Wednesday Battling To Keep Danny Rohl at 12:26:40
Of all the names mentioned Rohl is the one I would choose Yong, ambitious and with a reasonable amount of experience One not mentioned is FC Bodo Glint manager Knutsen Perhaps he is the mystery foreigner With all clubs facing a busy schedule of games it will be difficult to get anyone still on a contract |
| News Comment | Southampton In Negotiations With Club For Manager Release at 13:46:29
2 negative posts before it's anywhere near a done deal I pity whoever gets it with a fan base like ours I would welcome Rohl He has a good track record as an assistant to Ralph,in the Bundesliga and at international level Niether he or anyone else has a chance to save us this year so let him build a squad and team ready for 25/26 |
| News Comment | Southampton FC Sack Russell Martin at 10:31:49
So who next ? For me Rohl or Knutsen Neither has Pl experience but that level of coach isn't going to come here Whoever it is will be gettinging slaggeded off by the ball watching fans on here within a few mayches |
| News Comment | Russell Martin Suggests That Agent Is The Problem In Dibling Contact Talks at 18:34:14
Agents the surgery of professional sport One thing I don't get is why do the club pay the agent who is employed by the player If Tyler signs a new deal we give the agent a fee Why? I see Football Insider is claiming to have inside information about theRM situation Lying journos should be put in the same brackett as agents |
| News Comment | Southampton Planning To Keep Faith With Russell Martin But Why ! at 11:47:10
Despite our views they are keeping RM I wonder if there is a master plan ?After all Solak is one of Europe's most successful business men except whe it comes to Saints according to many supporters As for various sources reporting this. Do you really believe that one of the owners has spoken to ANY journalist and been that frank about it You may not like the man You may not agree with the style of play but personal insults are not the way to express that One thing I guarantee is that whoever eventually replaces him will not pick the team that satisfies 100% of fans or make the substitutions when fans think he should I am not sure about this but I think Rasmus is a shareholder or part owner and not an employee Therefore he cannot be sacked |
| News Comment | Is Russel Martin’s Priority Southampton FC Or His Own Agenda at 11:52:56
If you compare RM to VC are you also going to compare him with the other 2 managers who went up and back down in consecutive seasons? I don't believe that any coach playing any system would have kept us in the PL with this squad Look at it Ramsdale relegated twice before Stevens couldn't get a contract or many games on loan at Bournemouth Bednarek rejected at Villa Diaz failed in Spain Archer not wanted by his previous loan club KWP not bothered because he will leave for another PL club Who would want the job? |
| News Comment | Southampton At Aston Villa The Verdict at 15:46:24
DPeps thanks for the one common sense post on here today I know that I am currently in a small minority but I want RM to stay and I want to see his style succeed Anyone who thinks I am unhinged just remember Columbus was the only one who thought the world was round but I think you will find he was right |
| News Comment | Russell Martin Turns On The Fans And Players at 17:20:19
Wratoftazz Do you seriously believe that you and your daughter, who like me are a bit fanatical about Saints, are joined every home game by 30000 like minded souls ? I would say that 20 or 21 thousand will be there week in week out The rest are newbie supporters every now and then To keep them coming the product has to be right A lot of fickle fans want RM gone but if he goes bare in mind that we will lose the little quality we do have THB,Downes Fernandez Ramsdale to start with will all leave because they are his players They enjoy working with him Read the Echo article by THB about the possession game I thought Cotese did a fabulous job as chairman but the timing of the sacking of St Nigel was IMO totally out of order Likewise for what he did last season RM has earned the right to have a season as a PL manager |
| News Comment | Russell Martin Turns On The Fans And Players at 11:57:16
He has made the same comment before when we gave an ironic cheer to a long clearance After which we had to defend for a longer spell It's certainly not the type of football I want to watch As for thinking he has lost the fans please explain to me why home games are sell outs |
| News Comment | Enough Is Enough ! Russell Martin Has To Adapt Or Go ! at 16:48:35
Nick you have a very selective memory The first 9 0 v Leicester, every game under Jones 2 seasons ago were all worse for supporters You claim to have supported RM but in my memory you were one of the first to jump on the Football Insider and call for a change I suspect you did so to appease the majority of posters The games continue to sell out despite our position and performances so the product is still good I like and want the style of play he is trying to achieve and I am happy to yo yo a couple of times to get there |
| News Comment | Southampton Without At Least 10 Players For Chelsea Clash at 11:10:53
Never mind missing players what will the "jobs fir the boys" system known as VAR hit us with this time? The shirt pull against Leicester The non penalty v Liverpoo Arsenal's 2nd goal was off side if you apply the same criteria as in the Brighton game Bournemouth's first goal should have been ruled out because the quick free kick was taken from the wrong place Mannings dialled goal v Wolves Wolves second goal after the fowl on Archer The list is endless VAR have turned off side into a subjective decision Let's keep goal line technology and once perfected auto off side and get rid of the rest |
| News Comment | Southampton Ready To Trim The Squad In January To Free Up Space For New Arrivals at 12:11:54
I have just watched Russell's press conference where he states quite clearly that he wants Paul to stay so any comment in a two bit rag isn't worth a mention Stewart isn't going to be fit before Christmas and will then need to be used sparingly so keeping Paul makes sense Others like Cornet Taylor and a few more will need to make a decision on where they want to be Most I suspect would rather be on loan at a championship club rather than being a bench warmer at a struggling PL club |
