It's also a pretty dated idea that he looks way better for scotland.. He scored one goal for them in the last two seasons. He's been patchy at best for them |

Absolutely spot on. His stats, at best, say he's a lower end championship striker who is far from prolific. He's not going to suddenly come good with us. One lively finish last week doesn't change that... He's always had the ability for the odd great finish, it's just few and very far between. |

Studied catch 22 at A-Level and it completely split the class between those who loved and it those who hated it. I actually just reread it 25 years later and still love it. Both funny and so sad at times. |

in some ways its better, some ways its worse. I think you're basically putting them back in to the ticketmaster/club database, so you have much more chance of selling them than via twickets, which in reality, not many people knew about, and at 25% less than the match day price, thats a decent amount for the season ticket holder. The negative...giving anything to ticketmaster is a negative. |

Hope this doesnt mean they are changing the sausage rolls....for the first time in years, they've actually been pretty good, at least in South Africa Road anyway. |

i think it's fair to say that if you offered Spurs 10 ilias Chairs, they wouldnt be interested other than to sell them and make some cash....he's nowhere near good enough to be in their team and unlikely, at his age, to improve enough to get in to it. Gray may not be either but he has a lot more chance of improving and getting in to it at some point. If the argument was about a championship club paying £40m for him, then the x number of Chairs instead argument may have some meaning, but it really doesnt when it comes to spurs. |

im in Poland visiting my partners family and literally every person I've spoken to here about the Euros has said England are awful. the commentators on TV here were making fun of us, and I'm not exaggerating. This isn't about England fans expecting us to win, it's about us looking terrible, and as has been mentioned in a previous post, it's not just England fans who think that. |

Second this. Parents have a house in Normandy, and it's an amazing area regardless of the history. H/ave done the beaches around Arromanches quite a few times and it's so emotional, and i am not even close to a military history buff. The US cemetery up above the cliffs is quite striking and obviously the big tourist draw, but i have to say both the British and German ones are equally moving. The scale of the German one near Bayeax is unbelievable....up to 4 bodies per grave in some cases too. Some very young men in all of them too. |

"Protecting the public or deliberately making it more expensive to drive?" - Probably both to be fair. Councils make a lot of money from them but at the same time, you only get caught if you go above the speed limit. This isn't me being preachy....i had to do a speed awareness course earlier this year for doing 23 in a 20 mile zone! I get its annoying when they are sneaky but if often see people tearing along my local roads at 40 oor 50 in a 20 mile zone, because they know there arent cameras there. |

When we used to go to france as kids, the family joke was always that cross walks main purpose was just to make it easier for the ambulance to find you when you got hit crossing the road |

Expensive yes, but London does have one of the best/most comprehensive transport systems in the world. People love to moan about it, and it definitely isn't perfect, but how many large cities actually have a better transport system than London? A few have good subway/metro cities (especially some asian cities) but then the bus network is non existent or useless because of crazy traffic on the roads. |

Thus is 100% true (regardless of any cycling debate). All the data shows how many car journeys are really short, but everyone views their own car journey as "essential". i worked with someone who drove from Barnet to canary wharf every morning, even though it took 50% longer than the tube because "i dont like public transport". If traffic was bad, it would take 1.5 hours, which is insane. Until people shake the idea that a car is always easiest for any journey, then there will be way too many cars on the road slowing down journeys for those that genuinely do need cars (disabled people, people who need cars for work etc). When i was a kid, if we were going to oxford street or covent garden with my parents, we would drive. You wouldnt dream of it now, because it isn't the easiest option because public transport has improved and parking is so expensive. That has changed peoples mentality around it and most people dont even think of driving there. |

Dortmund had 400,000 applications for tickets to the game (mental, i know), so that would suggest there is a lot more potential for ticketless fans to show up. Not saying they will at all, but for that game, they know demand massively outstrips availability. |

I cycle regularly in London and drive and can 1000% say that delivery drivers on bikes and ebikes need to really be cracked down on. They are a real problem and give other cyclists a terrible reputation. BUT forcing every day cyclists to register is a massively backwards step. We need to encourage as many people out of cars as possible, both for people's health and the environment, plus for traffic reasons. The road tax doesnt really add up either...road tax is charged based on road maintenance and environmental impact, both of which cycling is easily one of the best options for. |

I went a couple years ago with a friend who's a season ticket holder. It's an amazing stadium with great facilities BUT call me an old man, I just don't associate something that nice with football. It's too nice, and all about a nice afternoon of entertainment, and that's not why I watch football. It reminded me of watching sports in the states, which I love, but it's purely for entertainment value and was a bit boring as a result. Hard to judge given I wasn't watching QPR too |

Re the Brixton fiasco....netflix arent making a documentary about it because 1. the footage of it wont be very interesting, compared to thousands of drunk england fans being idiots and ... 2. (more importantly) there will be zero interest in it outside the UK, so it doesnt make financial sense for them to make it. it's nothing to do with Anglophobia, but a documentary on a complete mess at a global sporting event, followed by 100's of millions of people, in the worlds most popular sport is going to be much more marketable than a documentary on a small, local event in London barely followed by anyone outside then UK. Its just simple economics. And sadly, the fact that the England football fans were living up to stereotypes a lot of the world has about them just makes it even more marketable. |

not the best example (though appreciate thats not your point) as Glastonbury fencing is like a prison these days. Two layers of perimeter fencing which is almost like permanent fencing with car and foot patrols inbetween the two in case anyone makes it over one. They were going to lose their license years back over all the people climbing in, so they completely stamped it out. |

One of them said something along the lines of "i love following England...its the fact that we are all in it together"...and then proceeded to gate crash his way in, which is a completely selfish act and the opposite of being it it together. It was interesting but given i have a low tolerance of football fans being d1cks and an even lower tolerance of England fans being d1cks, it was a tough watch! |
