I am hoping for some useful advice from my fellow Rs.
I am taking my family to New York later this year (summer) and am looking to combine it with another destination. We thought maybe Boston or Niagara. Has anyone been to Boston or any other suggestions?

If you go to Cape Cod (and I couldn't recommend the place enough, it is truly a tranquil place), try to do a day trip to Marthas Vineyard. They don't call it the presidents playground for nothing, it's one of my favourite places on earth, plus you can reenact bits from Jaws which was filmed there!

I actually think most if not all of north east USA is very nice and with the states so close to each other you can day trip a few quite easily. And Niagara Falls isn't too big a car ride, and it's cool that they all say cheers when you drive over the bridge into Canada.

Don't let immigration or the airport staff out you off the US, for a country with such fantastic hospitality, the first folks you see at immigration are utter and complete bastards for the most part, don't make a single mistake on your visa waiver form, if you do just get another and start again!

Have fun, I love going to America and I have no doubt you and your family will love it too!

Agreed. And if you do get to Martha's Vineyard, ignore tacky Oak Bluffs and head straight for Edgartown or ville or whatever it's called. Home of Jaws.

Poll: Kitchen threads or polls?

If I see you at half time tomorrow I'll put you in the picture, the street music and the bars on Bourbon Street are worth the flight money alone. -

Thanks Ted I look forward to that
